In 1994 I was diagnosed with celiac disease, which led me to create Celiac.com in 1995. I created this site for a single purpose: To help as many people as possible with celiac disease get diagnosed and living happy, healthy gluten-free lives. Celiac.com was the first site on the Internet dedicated solely to celiac disease, and since then it has become an invaluable resource to people worldwide who seek information about celiac disease and the gluten-free diet.
In 1998 I created The Gluten-Free Mall, Your Special Diet Superstore! which was also another Internet first—it was the first gluten-free food site to offer a shopping cart-style interface, and the ability for people to order gluten-free products manufactured by many different companies at a single Web site.
General Mills Rice Chex® - Now Gluten-Free!
Without changing the crunchy, oven-toasted flavor of Rice Chex, General Mills replaced barley malt syrup with molasses resulting in a gluten-free cereal. The company has taken the requisite steps to prevent cross contamination during production and tested the new formula based on proposed FDA standards. Rice Chex cereal calls out its gluten-free status on new packaging available nationwide.
One tasty serving of Rice Chex cereal still clocks in at 100 calories, contains two grams of sugar, 0.5 grams of fat and delivers a good source of whole grain with at least 8 grams per serving. What a great way to start your day!
Plus, Rice Chex cereal is the perfect ingredient for fun and delicious gluten-free Chex Party Mixes. Chex out http://www.Chex.com/glutenfree for delicious recipes and more information.
Subscribe to free Celiac.com email alerts (1-3 email per month with the latest celiac disease research and information, gluten-free recipes, etc.).
