In 1994 I was diagnosed with celiac disease, which led me to create Celiac.com in 1995. I created this site for a single purpose: To help as many people as possible with celiac disease get diagnosed so they can begin to live happy, healthy gluten-free lives. Celiac.com was the first site on the Internet dedicated solely to celiac disease. In 1998 I created The Gluten-Free Mall, Your Special Diet Superstore!, and I am the co-author of the book Cereal Killers, and founder and publisher of Journal of Gluten Sensitivity.
The Celiac Sprue Association/United States of America, Inc., is a national education organization that provides information and referral services for persons with the conditions of nontropical sprue (celiac disease) and dermatitis herpetiformis and for parents of celiac children. CSA/USA, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation, has published a series of low-cost brochures on the gluten-free diet, gluten-free commercial foods and has access to a medical advisory board for specific inquiries and information not available through local community health systems.
CSA publications for print and web site materials are developed through the Publications Board and have had medical review of content by physicians as well as having input from patients and health educators. CSA publications have the review and endorsement of the Patient Education Committee of the American Association of Gastroenterologists.
