I may be one of the oldest persons diagnosed with celiac desease. I'm 69 and was diagnosed by Dr. Thelander at Childrens Hospital in San Francisco circa 1943. I spent a year at Children's Hospital and over a year at Stanford Convalescent Home in quaranteen. My diet was bananas and steak breakfast, lunch and dinner - since they did not know at the time that gluten was the culprit. The San Francisco Examiner did a photo article while at Stanford showing me eating " My First Turkey Dinner" 1945
