I'm a 48 year old man. I was diagnosed at age 42 when my doctor discovered I was anemic. A celiac blood panel returned very high numbers of antibodies. I chose not to have the biopsy, which the doctor agreed was probably unnecessary. I began the gluten-free diet immediately and my health improved over the next year. At age 44, I realized I could no longer tolerate dairy and have eliminated it as well. Today, my health is reasonably good with some apparently unresolvable eczema.
