I am a married woman and mother of 5 living in the great state of Idaho! My story of Celiac is probably the same as most - as a child I had flu like symptoms constantly and was diagnosed with everything under the sun. IBS, lactose intolerance, you name it. Everything but Celiac! Despite my illness, I pushed myself hard to succeed in my endeavors. Only then I would pay for it by spending the weekend in bed! It wasn't until my fifth and final pregnancy and birth that we realized something was terribly wrong. Pregnancy left me sicker than I had ever been. Three months post delivery, I ballooned up 20 pounds overweight, only to become drastically ill and lose almost 40 of it. I looked like a bag of bones. After every cancer test imaginable, low and behold a simple little test determined the culprit: Celiac. After discovering this coupled with some serious food allergies, I was now on my long awaited road to recovery. My twin sons have been diagnosed as well, so I have some 'Celiac Buddies' in the house! Recovery and re-learning to eat and prepare foods was a frustrating experience, but well worth it for the energy and strength I've found. I am now 36, and this is the best I have ever felt in my life. I'm thankful to the Lord that He revealed this to me while I was still young. Now I can enjoy raising my family and being my husband's best friend.
