I am a celiac recently diagnosed at forty-something after 15+ futile years trying to decipher chronic illnesses and diagnosing my own thyroid failure. I owe my celiac diagnosis to the wonderful team at the Women's Wellness Center at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA, who were aware, attentive, and therefore quick to spot all the warning signs when I went to them with a plea to "help me find what is wrong with me." Having had my life turned upside down and shaken like a snow globe by a disease I'd never heard of before, my husband and I are beginning a quest for a new doctor and new foods here in Riverside, CA.
