
Short CV Yolanda Sanz, IATA-CSIC
She is Scientist of the National Spanish Rearch Council (CSIC) at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA) and Associated Professor of Human Dietetics and Nutrition at the University of Valencia. She has developed research activities in Molecular Microbiology at University of Groningen (The Netherlands), at INRA in Jouy en Josas (France), at University of Verona (Italy), at Institute of Food Research (Reading, UK) and at Immunology and Gnotobiology Depto in Check Academy of Sciences. She is head of Microbial Ecophysiology Group at IATA-CSIC. Her research activities focus on studies of the interactions between the gut microbiota, the diet and human health and disease, addressing disorders such as celiac disease and obesity. She is also developing basic and oriented applied research on the development of probiotics and functional foods. She is involved in the European Network of Functional Foods. She is author of more than 60 original publications in high-rated journals, 9 book chapters and 4 patent applications. A present, she is heading two research projects on celiac disease and gut microbes and she is responsible for recent publications in this area in J Med Microbiol and FEMS Immunol Med Microbiol.
