I am a 20 year old college student- celiac and allergic to dairy (luckily I have my younger sister to share both intolerances with). Ironically, I found out I was celiac in Chile, the second highest country in bread consumption. For THREE years I had to deal with anemia, depression, anxiety and feeling tired all the time no matter how much I slept. When my doctor in Chile told me these are common effects of celiac, I was not happy with my doctors in the U.S. who told me that anemia is normal in young women and I shouldn't worry about it. Now I feel great and am so happy- as you know, most people react with a fake pity when they found out you are celiac. I am so thankful that I KNOW and that my body is healthy again.
