The massive void is in quick and accessible meals that are safe for those with celiac to eat while on the run away from home. Most of us have careers and lives that leave us very hungry throughout the day when time is limited, or when we are traveling to locations and cities in the spur of the moment. It would be nice to know that while traveling we could simply walk into a restaurant or fast food location and eat without the fear of getting sick. Eating muffins and donuts is not at all a healthy option.

Hopefully all of us will one day be able to eat anywhere like we once did prior to the diagnosis.

Thanks for the great work!

A lot of restaurants are now showing gluten-free selections on their menus.
Like Rick said, donuts and sweet goodies are not a priority, but it is nice to know they are there if we want them.
What I find is that if it is gluten-free, then it is very pricey compared to foods with gluten and that makes it really hard for celiacs to stay on budgets and enjoy the foods we crave.
A while back, there were articles that Subway was testing gluten-free Breads for their sandwiches. Never did hear anything more about that. I hope more and more food entities get with gluten-free products and at reasonable prices.

I'm a celiac and while I have found an abundance of 'treats' to keep my sweet tooth happy, I will say I very much miss Dunkin Donuts. This is exciting and I hope to see more 'chain' food stores adding gluten-free options. As someone else mentioned, popping in for something quick while on the go like before being diagnosed would be huge. And I don't eat a lot of fast food, but sometimes it's a convenience. Go D&D!

The only problem, as mentioned by others, is that this is another food probably high in sugar and carbs. A lot of gluten-free things being made and advertised are not really all that healthy. If one eats in moderation though, it might not be too bad. Another worry, just how much more is a donut going to cost there since guten-free is almost always overpriced with a smaller amount?

I stopped in this morning and there was a small basket on the counter next to the register. They are individually wrapped. Donut = $1.89, muffin = $2.39. I tried a cinnamon sugar donut and a blueberry muffin. The donut was tasty, but not really a donut. It was damp on the exterior and tasted more like one of those Entenman's. The muffin smell and taste are on par with the real thing. The major difference, as usual, was the texture (kinda like cornbread). I would buy the muffin again. It's nice to know we finally have a convenient option for an on-the-go breakfast fix. I'm usually sitting there with my coffee watching the rest of my family eat, wishing I planned my breakfast better. :)
