So, I'm new here and I don't really know if there's something specific I'm supposed to be writing about. But since it's my blog I guess it doesn't matter. Pretty much every day for the last 5 years has been a struggle of me binge eating gluten and then feeling guilty about it. I've started to plan out what I'm going to do so that I can avoid eating gluten. My biggest hurdle right now is actually packing a lunch when I go to work, because they make our food there (we eat what the residents eat) and it's obviously not gluten-free. Pretty much my problem right now is the stupid bad cycle I've gotten myself into. I eat too much because I say that tomorrow I will start my diet, and then the next day I don't. I am so inactive but I am too stuck in not doing anything to have the motivation to get up and work out. Plus I work and am a full-time nursing student. So many excuses, and I'm only 20 years old and feel like I shouldn't be this lazy to have to deal with all of these issues. My doctor recently told me that if I go at the same rate, I will have diabetes in the next five years. My body is already naturally insulin-resistant so that's not a very good thing that I'm overweight and Celiac Disease has given me another reason to be more prone to diabetes. Well, I guess that's it for now and we'll see what happens.

HI Rachel,

Perhaps I can offer a suggestion...stop calling this a diet because that word is depriving...how I learned to think about it is this..I can have or eat anything htat I want but I choose not to eat things with gluten because they make me sick.

Another thing that I did was to make sure you are never hungry, always have nuts or fruit etc so you are not ravenous when you go to eat...

Also, make sure you are taking viamins because if you are starved of vitamins then your brain will be craving because your body isn't nourished. These are some of the little ways I started to finally feel better and stick to eating free of gluten!!

Oh, also I would suggest making a list of all of the things that you CAN eat so that you don't have to constantly look at a list of things you are deprived of.

Hope this helps!!

Thank you so much for the idea of writing out what I CAN have. That's my biggest problem having to sit there and think of what I should eat, so then i just grab something with gluten and eat that instead of taking time. Thanks!!!

There are sooo many days i have felt exactly the way you do i just turned 23 but i feel like im 43.I was diagnosed with celiac about three weeks ago yet it feels like 3 years ago.this has been really hard for me considering my diet consisted of wendys mcdonalds breads and pastas.I am not a meat or fish eater so i go through the same feelings as you what the hell do i eat throughout the day i often find myself not eating which is worse.I have gotten really lazy and gained a lot of weight i have never been skinny yet ive also never been this heavy and it really bothers me cause i feel like saying to myself what the hell happened to you and is this the reason you are so sick everyday.it has been a struggle for me going gluten free but i do it because i love my boyfriend and family more than anything in this world and i never wanna say to them hey i have stomach cancer because i wanted to eat those fries from wendys.Celiac has some major side effects if you keep eating gluten im not trying to lecture you im relating to you.I am not the conventional skinny "celiac" or skinny "vegetarian but right now im more focused on being healthy that with being overweight. My suggestion find someone who loves you that will be willing to help you find places to eat and stuff. My bf is great when it comes to that he will take me wherever i can find something.Lucky for me i love salads so i pack that for a day out in a little cooler.I also found the best tasting pizza and its gluten free i dont know where you live but if you liive and or visit nyc ever i could tell you a few great places to get gluten free food that tastes exactly like real food.I doubt this was any help but i just noticed you are going through a lot of what i am and its nice to be able to see your not the only one..hope your feeling better!!!!
