Muddy Buddies

I got glutened! I had some food sitting on the table in the teacher's lounge next to my purse -covered- and I quickly went into the copy room to make some copies. When I came back, there was a woman with her hands in my food! She was eating my food! I said, get outta there! Everyone laughed.

And I got glutened. I guess I shouldn't have stepped away. But, it's a busy time of year.

I had back and leg pain within the hour but the bathroom bonanza didn't begin until the morning. That's what happened the last couple of times. It used to be within the hour like the leg pain. hmmmm. The back pain was excruciating in the morning and I had to take 3 Aleves just to function at my job.

I still get glutened monthly.

Then, after I ate at HOME, I felt sick. So, I don't know if it was from that or not.

THEN, after my cowboy came over to my pool and he was kissing me in the pool, we got in the car and I saw chewing tobacco in there. UGH! So, I wonder if that's what made me sick!

Then, I almost got glutened! I was eating out with the Professor at the Italian place and I ordered the gluten free spaghetti with marinara. After they served me, I looked at it and thought, "That looks yellow. They must've switched from rice pasta to corn pasta." I just swirled the food around (still aching from my previous glutening) and smelled the sauce. Then, the owner of the restaurant rushes over and says, Don't eat that! She takes my plate away. Ten minutes later, they bring another plate. THe owner's husband comes over and apologizes. I explain that usually restaurants use a different shaped plate to signify that my food is different, to avoid confusion. He thanks me for the idea and tells his wife. I'm flabbergasted that they didn't remove the cost from the bill. The only reason I didn't eat the food, was that I was twirling it around. I inadvertently saved myself. I think it was rude to charge me.

Muddy Buddies! I finally got to shake up some muddy buddies (you shake chocolate/pb-covered Chex with powdered sugar to coat it) and chowed and chomped on them all week! Good memories drifted in of messing up the kitchen with roommates in my college apartment...munching them with teammates as we cheered on the bench at my softball games in high school waiting for a turn to bat...one friend calling them "puppy chow"...I guess I didn't realize they are comfort food. I had only eaten them a few times in my life. But, I'm glad they are! Comfy, glutenless, yummy, muddy buddies!

I've also been eating shrimp with wilted spinach (made in my kitchen by the professor), apricots, tacos (tortilla not fried, but soft), homemade guacamole, and Trader Joe's Black Forest Cake (gluten free in the frozen section).

With gas prices sky-high and my upcoming trip to visit my grandmother, which since my brother is making me go see Wicked ($100) even tho I've already seen it, the $$ are already blinding me...I've been amusing myself with YouTube "how to" hair and make-up clips. today I tried the mini-bouffant updo with a headband that looks less like Amy Winehouse and more like a sixties runway model. I got several compliments on it.
