We are offering TWO programs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4th. We open the doors at 6:00 p.m. to enjoy gluten-free samples and snacks, and to shop with our vendors.

Diabetes and Celiac Disease

Katherine Lecker, RN BSN

Kate describes herself in her curriculum vitae: "A nurse diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes over 25 years ago and happily living with Celiac Disease and other autoimmune diseases." Based on her history, Kate is very knowledgeable in providing helpful, educational information about living with Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac Disease.

Kate has worked in the following capacities: 1) Diabetes Education: Franklin Square Hospital, 2) Critical Care Nursing: Franklin Square and Chesapeake Medical Staffing Agency, 3) and currently, Kate is the Capitol District Clinical Lead for Medtronic Diabetes where she is coaching and leading clinical sales reps to ensure positive patient outcome while aligning team performance.

You will want to join us in the Fellowship Hall for an informative program to learn more about one of the most common autoimmune diseases that sometimes accompanies celiac disease.

Q&A Session for Parents

Dr. Attilla Devenyi, Pediatric Gastroenterologist

In the Board Room, we are offering this additional program for parents of gluten sensitive children. This will be a question and answer format. Dr. Devenyi is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist with Regional GI Associates of Lancaster and his area of interest is functional bowel disorders and nutrition support.

We are asking you to submit you general questions concerning celiac disease, non-celiac gluten intolerance and wheat allergies on a 3X5 index card and drop them in the container at the registration table prior to the 6:30 p.m. program.
