The Chex Issue

I'm annoyed. I could have SWORN I heard/read/was told that they had a gluten free facility for the gluten free chex!! I just called them after reading the other thread on here about cinnamon chex. I get so tired of reading the same thing over and over, I decided to just find out for myself what the heck is going on, I really dont see how someone could get wheat chex in their cinnamon chex, etc! Well, the person I just spoke to told me they do NOT have a gluten free facility! In fact they are just like any other company that "cleans their lines well" before they run the gluten free chex, and they test them for gluten. But how often do they test them?? Do they test every batch?? Do they allow a certain amount of gluten and still call it "gluten free"??? Well, I asked that last question, and the girl said she had never heard of that, but she would research it and call me back. I swear if they call and tell me they allow a certain amount of gluten in those darn chex, I'm never buying a damn box again!!! And I have 4 boxes here right now! I was about to make chex mix! I think we should all start writing letters telling them we want a gluten free facility for chex!

Help Finding gluten-free Turkey Breast To Roast.

I tried two local supermarkets yesterday and didn't find a turkey breast (to roast, not deli) I felt safe buying. One that is listed in my Cecelia's Gluten-Free book has modified food starch and didn't specify what was in it. Any suggestions? I shop in the Syracuse, NY area and that includes Auburn and Skaneateles.
Thanks.

Possible Problem With Oatmeal

It was suggested that I may have a problem with oatmeal. My question is, do I have to go back and carefully wash the pot and utensils I used to cook my gluten free oatmeal like I would if I had cooked something with wheat? And since I used my sponge to clean my pan and utensils do I need to get a new sponge?

Iced Coffees

I enjoy coffee every so often, especially when it's closer to finals week, it gives a really good boost to pull the late/all nighters I need, or I just enjoy having them because of the taste.

Where is everyone's favorite coffee places that are definitely gluten free?

Does anyone know about Brugger's, how about their Brueggaccinos? I read the ingredients that they use, but nothing sounds too suspicious but I wanted to be safe of course. There wasn't anything specific online either.

Brueggaccino
Ingredients: Water, French Roast Coffee, Cream, Condensed Nonfat(Skim) Milk, Sugar Syrup, Milk, Corn Syrup, Less than 2% of Natural Flavors, Stabilizer: Guar Gum, Mono and Diglycerides, Locust Bean Gum and Carageenan, Sugar.
ALLERGEN INFORMATION: Contains dairy.

How about Chai teas? I've always enjoyed hot chai tea lattes. Has anyone been glutened by them?

I'm new to reading labels, but learning fast. It's only been three weeks I've been gluten free. Thanks a bunch!

My mother has been diagnosed with osteoporosis. As a Celiac, I know I'm at risk for developing this as well- not only b/c of Celiac Disease but genetics as well. I have tried different multi-vitamins but they all make me shaky- almost like its an overload of "stuff". I'm also extremely sensitive to anything gluten related so I'm worried I've been contaminating myself, so to speak. Can anyone recommend some good vitamins for Celiacs?

Got New Teeth What Denture Products Are Safe?

Celiac did a number on my teeth, like many of us have happen and I had to have most of my upper teeth pulled a couple weeks ago and now have a temporary partial plate that of course since I am still healing is getting looser and looser. I still have almost 2 months to go before my dentist will make the final plate and need something to keep these temps from slipping that is safe to use. Anyone have any for sure gluten free adhesives that they use and can reccommend? It is so nice not to be in pain constantly anymore but when I smile my teeth slip which is almost as embarrassing as the mess that was in there before the work was done.

Whole Foods "365" Nut Products

I apologize if this has alredy been discussed. It's been a VERY long time since I've been on the forum and I only have a couple of minutes right now so did not do a search to see if this has been a topic.

To those in the US that have relied on Whole Foods "365" walnuts, almonds, etc. you may have noticed a new packaging. The old packaging made no mention of shared equipment with wheat, in fact it stated that they practiced good manufacturing to segregate, etc. I used some walnuts from the new packaging and got sick, typical gluten symptoms. I questioned Wholefoods Customer Service yesterday in person and they said that these products are now being packaged in a new facility.

I think anyone who has come to rely on these products needs to send an e-mail to Wholefoods and complain about this. Not only do I NOT have a place to buy organic non contaminated nuts now, but I'm concerned about the Whole Food own bakehouse goods! (I assume they use their own products in the breads, etc)

It's super frustrating to get accustomed to a product for YEARS and then have them change it! GRRR.

Just wanted to make everyone aware and try to start a "movement" that maybe will force them to go back to the old ways.
