------------------
Hello Ken,

Thanks for writing!

We apologize that we are unable to provide you with a list of gluten free products.

Because our products are formulated for use by the majority of our consumers, and not specifically for those on restricted diets, it is possible our product formulations may change at any time. As a result, we cannot provide a list due to several factors:

- Lists of this type reflect products as formulated at a specific time
- It is possible that more products/varieties may have been added
- More important, changes in existing products may have occurred

Ingredients that may contain any of the top eight allergens as defined by FDA are:

Milk, Eggs, Fish, Shellfish & Crustacean, Wheat, Soy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Sesame Seeds, and Sulfites.

We make every effort to stay informed about any additional ingredients that could be considered common allergens. Whenever possible, we try to avoid using materials that could be considered to be commonly allergenic, so that potential allergens are not included in categories such as "Natural Flavors."

We suggest reading all ingredient labels carefully. If you cannot determine whether or not the product contains the ingredient in question, or if you feel uncomfortable about the ingredients used in our products, it is our recommendation that you do not use them.

We hope this information is helpful.
Your friends at Knorr

[THREAD ID:1-7QYZQB]

I went to a Dove Chocolate Discoveries party. Ummm. Right. Well all of there packaging says, "May contain wheat" I ate a couple of things that before I read that that I felt would be gluten-free. Most chocolate is gluten-free. I haven't had a reaction as of now. 2 days later.
My question is....Do any of you eat items that say...Processed in a facility that contains wheat or Processed on the same equipment as wheat? Or any variation thereof?
Thanks
Debbie

Brownies?!?!

So I fixed some Bobs Red Mill gluten-free Brownies and it said on the package as an option to add chocolate chips. I checked around and it looked like Hershey's Milk Chocolate Chips were okay so I added about 1/4 cup. I added a little cream cheese on top (yum...these were great) but within a few minutes I had the same stomach issues going on that I had before I went gluten-free. Any ideas? Were the chocolate chips a bad idea? I'm getting a little overwhelmed with what I can and can't eat...lol...I'm almost becoming afraid to eat! Any help would be appreciate~ thanks all! This site has become a real lifesaver!!!

Confused About Natural And Artifical Flavors

Being newly diagnosed with gluten sensitivity, I am learning the ropes of becoming completely gluten free. One thing that strikes me when I read labels is that I was told to stay away from anything that has artificial or natural flavoring in it as it contains gluten. I wanted to check a couple of items that I love, like my pumpkin spiced lattes at Starbucks for example......or the occasional soda. I went on several gluten free websites claiming that these are gluten free. So I am confused.....are these flavorings gluten free or not? Are they dependent on the product?

Thanks!

Is Old El Paso Salsa Gluten Free?

Sorry for the double post, I realized I had posted this in the wrong place the first time.

My question is... is the Old El Paso salsa gluten free in Canada? Anyone know? I've tried searching online with no luck. I have the Thick N' Chunky Medium flavour. The ingredients list onion and garlic powders so there could be hidden gluten there. Is this brand known for listing allergens reliably? Anyone in Canada use this product?

Thanks
Jillian

Kraft Products

Hi I'm new to this and I'm so lost...I feel starving already and its only been 1 day! Anywho so I read that KRAFT does not hide Gluten but I'm confused about this one. All I want to do is make some Tuna with Mayo. We have the mayo with olive oil. The ingredients are:

Water, Olive Oil, Canola Oil, Soybean oil, Vinegar, Modified food starch, Sugar, Maltodextrin, eggs, Contains less then 2% of salt, Mustard Flour, Dried Onions, Dried Garlic Natural Flavor, Enzyme modified egg yolk, Beta Caratene, (color), Lactic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, and Calcium Disodium EDTA as a preservatives, osphoric acid.

then Contains : egg

Ok so I see Modified food Starch but since its Kraft is should say (wheat) correct? and natural flavorings but it does not say anything with wheat and then it does not say contains wheat. So what is wrong with it?? I would eat it but its not one of the mayo's listed as Gluten free on their website..so is the gluten hidden or am I missing something? Thanks to anyone who answers

_Brittany

Reser's Fine Foods

I've been craving taquitos with guacamole and salsa. While grocery shopping, looked at the products in the freezer section, hoping to find something gluten free. I get bored eating the same stuff.

I found frozen Chicken Taquitos and Beef Taquitos, mfr'd by Reser's Fine Foods. I was happy, as ingredients look safe--corn tortillas, nothing that should contain gluten, & nothing suspicious! I bought a couple boxes, but decided to check their website before eating. This is what I found, so I think I should return the items, and just make them from scratch...

Anyone have cc info on Reser's products to share? I hate it when companies have policies like this, where cc is a gamble.

Thanks!

http://www.resers.com/products/faq/#are-an...cts-gluten-free

5.

I am very new to the gluten-free lifestyle and this will be my first gluten-free Thanksgiving, im a little scared. I have been avoiding alot of meat in my diet, just because it is hard for me to find poultry and such that has not been injected with gluten containing broth. I know that the glutenated broth is especially put into whole chickens and turkeys. I was wondering if anyone knew of any stores or brands that have gluten free turkeys. Any suggestions on what do you do for your thanksgiving turkey would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Products Labeled "non-dairy"

I have spun this off from the topic on substitution for evaporated milk in a pumpkin pie. A poster suggested a "non-dairy" product which was suitable for whipping cream, but which contained casein. Well, we have a large dairy conglomerate here that ships "powdered milk" all over the world, and that powdered "milk" consists of casein, so I wondered how a product could be labeled "non-dairy" and contain casein. A google search which brought up a vegetarian site revealed that "the inspectors" required any product that did not contain "milk" -- apparently by this they meant "lactose" had to be labelled "non-dairy" so as 'not to confuse the consumer' who was anticipating there to be milk in a dairy product.

"2006/02/20: Evidently the dairy inspectors require
that milk-similar items without milk (but with casein!) are labelled
as non-dairy to avoid confusing the consumer! They're worried about
the consumer who is hoping to get milk product and doesn't - and
those of us with allergies are screwed.

http://daveola.com/Vegetarian/Casein/ "

My husband and I were discussing this at dinner, and I wondered about non-dairy coffee creamers, and if the same situation existed. Sure enough, a search for Coffee Mate produced the following in the ingredients:

"Sodium caseinate (derived from milk)**

**not a source of lactose"

So for anyone avoiding dairy by using non-dairy coffee creamer, guess what?? You are consuming dairy. It's all right if you are lactose intolerant only, but tough luck if you are casein intolerant. This is blatant false labeling in my book. The dairy industry must be a very powerful lobby.
