Ener G Light Tapioca Bread surprisingly good!

I didn't like the regular tapioca bread, it felt like I had a brick in my stomach but the new "light" bread is really good! It has only 7 grams of carbs per slice and it tastes light but substantial. It's probably the best gluten free bread I've had so far.
Didn't know if anyone had mentioned it on here yet or not. Thought I'd share another good gluten free product!

My daughter likes it and also the Rice Starch bread.

I agree; this is the first bread I have tried that I considered edible. I either make a reuben or other grilled sandwich with it or toast it in a dry skillet first.

Where can you get it and how many calories per slice?

It has 45 calories, 1.5 fat gram, 7 carb, 1 dietary fiber and 0 protein per slice.

I haven't tried dry toasting it but tomorrow I'm going to put 1 slice under some slow-cooked bbq pulled pork and see how that tastes.

Yes, the light tapioca is good. Reminds me of "real" white bread. But I like EnerG light brown rice bread even more. Tastes more like "real" wheat bread. I think even the light tapioca has a tinge of strange taste and smell to it like the other tapioca loaf, but I don't find this at all with the brown rice. And I think the brown rice is probably healthier too (?)and less dry. The biggest problem I have had with the light varieties is that sometimes whatever lightening agent they use causes too much air in the loaf and you get some fairly big holes in the slices. They aren't kidding when they say they are light! :lol: But I'd never go back to the "brick" varieties!

thank you for the information on the brown rice bread. I haven't tried it. Yeah, the light tapioca does have an odd after-taste. It is SO much better than the brick bread though :)
I noticed I had a lot of big holes in it. I tried to toast and butter some one morning and I think I got butter on the crust and a spot here or there where there was actual substance inside the crust!! At least it's something. I miss toast and tea on a cold morning.
I'm going to look for the brown rice bread tomorrow.
