  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I have had problems with corn tortillas too. I tried a few different brands that said gluten free and felt sick after all of them...but my corn test came back negative so I have no idea what the problem is. Does anyone get sinus/eye problems from eating corn? I have been eating air popped popcorn lately and I wake up feeling like I have been crying all night. My eyes itch and burn and water all day.
  3. I've been having the same kinds of problems lately. I've gotten to the point where everything make me feel sick and I don't even want to eat anymore. Some nights I don't get to sleep at all and then I have horrible dreams when I finally do sleep. I just started a new job and I can't seem to get motivated for it because my whole body feels so terrible all the time. It sucks that so many of us still feel so bad. I'm starting a new's called "I hate food"
  4. Infertility

Has anyone else had problems with not getting a period for a very long time? I have not had one (except for when I was on the pill for a while) in quite a while. I know I'm at a low weight right now and that could be part of the problem, but I don't get it even after gaining some weight. I don't know if I ever want to have kids but I would at least like to have the option. Is this something that is common with celiac disease or should I be more worried and see the doctor about it?
  5. What Should I Do?

I think my fiber intake is pretty good. I eat a lot of vegetables and fruit. It seems like all grains make me feel very stomach sticks out a few inches farther than normal. I never thought of a nutrient deficiency...I'll have to look into that. I can tolerate the D...the worst part is that bloated uncomfortable feeling.
  6. What Should I Do?

I don't take any vitamins or any medications. I've been eating well lately but I don't think I'm absorbing what I'm eating because (sorry...tmi) I can tell what I just ate after I go to the bathroom.
  7. What Should I Do?

I feel completely fine stomach is the only problem, so I don't think I'm sick.
  8. These last few days have been horrible. Went off gluten in march, dairy free for years, and went off soy and corn about a month or so ago. Was doing mostly ok eating just fruit, vegetables, and meat as all grains seemed to upset my stomach. But then suddenly I have had D for the past few days no matter what I eat. And I'm losing weight again...just when I had finally started to get back to normal. I'm trying to get a doctor's appointment, but that's going to take a while. Would it be that bad to just not eat today? It's not like anything is staying in anyway I just don't know what else the problem could be...I've cut out every food I can think of that would be the problem and I am very careful about the things that I do eat (very paranoid about cc ) Oh yeah...and I've only slept about 2 hours each night. Help!! Any ideas?
  9. OMG...I do that all the time! Sometimes I even make my husband let me smell what he's eating
  10. Worrying About My Marathon

I think it would help if you ate more complex carbs like maybe brown rice so that it stays with you longer. Fruit and stuff is good but I think that the simple sugars in it have a more immediate effect on your blood sugar but it doesn't boost your energy for a long period like you need during a long run. I would try to eat things high in complex carbs (like brown rice) with a little protein to keep you full but not stuffed during your run. I've heard a lot of runners like to eat a small bagel with peanut butter and banana before running. I've never tried that...can't have nuts...but it sounds good The gels are great for during the run when you need immediate energy. Try to plan on times that you are going to eat them so that you eat it before you actually feel like you need to. That way you will keep your energy up without ever getting that drained, hungry feeling. BTW...if you don't want to have to buy the expensive gels I've heard a lot of people use the little packets of honey you can find at restaraunts During my half I filled my pocket with gummy bears and candy corn to eat and they were handing out jolly ranchers on the course
  11. Your Kidding

wow...I had no idea that wine had casein in it. Now I'm really glad I don't drink.
  12. Corn Sensitivity?

I'm also corn intolerant...finally figured that out a few weeks ago when going gluten free wasn't enough anymore. I thought that gluten was hard to avoid at first but it's easy compared to's literally in everything. What kind of reactions do you get from corn? Can certain forms of corn make you feel worse? I noticed stomach problems when I ate corn tortillas but not as bad when I ate popcorn. Also...are artificial sweeteners made from corn ok?
  13. Worrying About My Marathon

I would try to eat the same kinds of foods you were eating before your long runs before. It's always best to stay with something you know is safe so you don't feel sick during the race. Try to make your last meals before the race higher in carbs and lower in fats and proteins...these take longer to digest and you don't want food sitting in your stomach while running. When I did a half marathon I took some small candies like jolly ranchers in the pocket of my shorts in case I needed some extra energy during the race. Hope this helps. Good luck with your race...I hope to train for one next year. I was in the middle of training for one when I got sick so maybe next year
  14. Swimming and water aerobics are great ideas. If you have access to deep water you should also try deep water running. I did that when I had stress fractures and couldn't run. You can use an aquajogger to help stay up or you can go without if you can. It's a great workout and it's nice because you can exercise with other people who might be faster or slower runners because no one is really a fast runner in the water
  15. I have been seeing a lot more hair in the shower drain recently. I pull so much out just washing my hair. My stomach has not been feeling very good recently either as I have not been very careful about avoiding soy. Could this be causing my hair loss or should I be more concerned and see the doctor?
