  1. Thank you for the recipe. With the allergies it is hard to find anything safe. tb
  2. I need some help. My family has alot of food allergies and my daughter has celiac. I am wanting a recipe for gluten/soy/dairy/and rice free bread or cake/cookies or even biscuits. I know she doesnt have to have anything, but she is 2 and next week is valentines and they are having a party at school. I would really like to send her something so she doesnt feel left out. Thanks for any suggestions. tb
  3. Most doctors offices can draw lab for a food allergy panel. The office that I work in draws the blood and sends it out. My husband and daughter are both allergic to wheat (and alot of other stuff) and they both get bad symptoms like yours. It was about $440 for the full panel and it test for about 150 diff foods. Most insurance companies pay for it if you have a diagnosis.
  4. WE HAD MY DAUGHTER TESTED FOR FOOD ALLERGIES AND IT CAME BACK AND WE ARE TRYING TO CHANGE HER DIET BUT I NEED SOME HELP. SHE WAS ALLERGIC TO SEVERAL DIFF THINGS BUT MY DR IS FOR NOW ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT A FEW. THE RANGES ARE FROM 1-4, 4 BEING THE MOST SEVERE. HER 4S WERE WHEAT, SOY, AND RICE AND HER 3S WERE CANOLA, PEANUT, PORK, YEAST, AND PEAS. WHAT I AM NEEDING IS SOME IDEAS ON FOOD. SHE IS IN DAYCARE SO I AM HAVING TO MAKE HER LUNCH FOR HER TO TAKE. IF SHE CANNOT HAVE WHEAT, SOY OR RICE IS THERE ANYTHING BREAD WISE THAT I CAN GIVE HER BESIDES CORN TORTILLAS? I KNOW THAT SHE DOESNT REALLY NEED ANYHTING BUT SHE IS 1 1/2 AND IT IS HARD FOR HER TO SEE THE OTHER KIDS EATING STUFF THAT SHE CANNOT HAVE.
  5. MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS WITH CELIAC SYMP. IN DEC WE DID BLOOD WORK AND HER TTG WAS 3 PTS HIGH. MY OLD PEDI SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND THE GI DR DIDNT SEEM TOO CONCERNED. THE GP THAT I WORK FOR HAS BEEN LOOKING INTO CELIAC FOR ME AND STUDYING UP ON IT AND WE DECIDED TO REDRAW A FULL CELIAC DISEASE COMPREHENSIVE PANEL ON HER AND MY HUSBAND, AND IF THEY COME BACK ABNORMAL HE IS REFERRING US FOR A BX. QUESTION IS, IF MY HUSBANDS LAB ARE ABNORMAL IS THAT ENOUGH TO GET A BX ON HER?? MY DR IS GREAT AND IS TRYING TO GET BETTER INFORMED. HE JUST DOESNT WANT TO WASTE MY TIME SENDING ME ALL THE WAY TO DALLAS IF THE GI WILL NOT DO THE BX.
  6. I have some questions. My daughter is 16 months old and she has been having D for the last 5-6 mo and we ran a Celiac panel and her tTg came back 3 pts high. We saw the GI last week and he was very nice and listened to me and loved all over both of my kids and in the end he days toddlers diarrhea. I was so stessed by the time he said that was her dx that I didnt even say anything. He did run stool samples to check for infection and all of that came back ok. But I thought the tTg was kinda a sure thing, am I wrong?? I am a nurse and the Dr that I work for (a GP) is really lost in the Celiac thing so he really cannot help me. Also in the last week she has started having more solid stools but they till look like she is having malabsorbtion. The GI wants me to push gluten and retest next month. I am pushing gluten , anything she wants, crackers, toast, cherrios, and she is hungry all of the time again and very fussy and tired. I think I just dont know what to do now, but if anyone understands any of this please help me. Thanks.
  7. It came back 3 pt high. So they are calling it negative. I have made an appt with the GI Dr for Jan 3rd and they told me to keep her on gluten until they see her. We went 3 days gluten free and it was great, no diarrhea and she was actually happy after the second day. Thanks for asking. We are hoping for gluten intolerant.
  8. ENDOMYSIAL ANTIBODY-NEGATIVE GLIADIN IGA- NEG AND SOME TRANSGLUTIMINASE TISSUE IGA THAT IS STILL PENDING.
  9. I HAVE A QUESTION THAT I AM HOPING SOMEONE CAN ANSWER. I HAVE A 14 MONTH OLD LITTLE GIRL WHO HAS HAD DIARRHEA FOR ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS. OUR DR DECIDED TO DO THE CELIAC PANEL AFTER I ASKED ABOUT IT AND NOW IT HAS COME BACK WITH THE GLIADIN ANTIBODY IGG AS HIGH. WE ARE GOING TO GET IN TO SEE THE GI DR AND GO FROM THERE. OUR DR REALLY DIDNT KNOW ANY THING ABOUT CELIAC AND I HAVE BEEN A NURSE FOR 2 YRS AND HAD NEVER HEARD ABOUT IT UNTIL A FRIEND MENTIONED IT. I HAVE NOW IDEA WHAT TO DO AND SINCE THE BLOOD TEST IS POSITIVE DOES THAT MEAN SHE DOES HAVE IT? FOR NOW WE ARE TRYING TO BE GLUTEN FREE, BUT WITH DAYCARE AND A 4Y/O BROTHER IT IS HARD TO KEEP IT FROM HER. ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT. I JUST FEEL LOST NOW. THANKS
