  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Happy Birthday Disney! I sure hope that you are having a wonderful day!!

  3. Hi Paula, I believe it was the Igg or the IGA. Honestly, I've had so many things thrown at me I don't know which end is up. He is running tests for milk, whey, wheat, fruits. and a lot more that I just don't know of. IGE too which I believe is for milk. Thanks for writing.
  4. ...dr. says our 17 month old son doesn't have celiac. He had a biopsy 10 days ago. He feels this could be a milk allergy. Our son was on hypoallergenic formula from 4weeks until 1 yr. becuase he had reactions to the milk. He ran more blood tests today for other foods because he feels this is a food allregy. Our son has damage in his small bowel and his esophogus. We have to have him dairy free for 2 weeks, if no improvement then on prilosec. Any thoughts about this? Could it still be celiac? (he tested high on one of the blood tests, but not the serum or ttga) Andrea
  5. Hi Bohomama, I'm in a similar situation. My son is 17 months and was diagnosed via bloodtest that he could possibly have Celiac Disease. My husband and I were both quite upset and didn't feel it could be as he's shown no symptoms that I thought would relate to Celiac. He is Failure to Thrive (19 lbs. at 17 months) and doesn't eat much at all. He had a biopsy (which will be the next step for you if the test comes back positive). We are awaiting results but the Dr. feels it's Celiac because he has bumps in his intestine. Meanwhile, I've startd him on Gluten Free (he couldn't be Gluten Free until the biopsy was performed) and he hasnt' shown any changes yet. It's only been a week though. I wish you the best of luck. This is a great website to come to. I am still learning and am very overwhelmed too. Take Care. ~Andrea
  6. Hello, I am in the same situation as you. My son is 16 months old and has just been diagnosed w/Celiac. When the Dr. mentioned she wanted to test for it I couldn't even beileve it because he's never had any symptoms that would appear to be Celiac. His only symptom is that he doesn't enjoy eating and that he is only 19 lbs. Well, his test came back elevated (I believe 98 was his # when the normal is about 19). He had his biopsy done this past Friday and we are still waiting for results (but we are almost certain it's celiac since the dr. saw bumps in his intestine.) The biopsy is the only official diagnosis of celiac. I am still in a bit of denial as there is no family history (and it's hereditary) and he is such a happy and energetic baby. I hope that your dd doesn't have it but I know that these message boards are a great resource. I know there is a lot of support on here and I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time on here asking questions! Best wishes to you and your family.
  7. THANK YOU so much Noglugirl for the lists! I am definitley going to print those out..... and to everyone else who are all making me feel like I can handle this! My little boy is only 16 months so I have hope that he'll be used to these foods and not realize what he's missing. Thank You again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~Andrea
  8. Our 16 month old son just had his biopsy today to see if he has Celiac. Dr. said he still isn't 100% sure until the results come back but that he did see bumps in the small intestine. He is suspicious that it is it. 1 of the 3 tests came back positive for it. The actual celiac test came back negative. We have no idea what to think! His only symptom is that he is not a big eatr and is on the small side. No other symptoms at all. We are still holding out hope that it isn't celiac but we know it must be. Just curious as to what the biopsy usually shows? Thanks.
  9. Thank you all so much for this great information! I haven't purchased anyhing yet because we want to wait until the consult w/his pediatric GI on 3/5. Thanks!
  10. Just joined these message boards, but unsure of how to get my picture to show up with my signature on the bottom of the page when posting. TIA

  13. Thank you so much for your advice girls! I honestly don't know what I would do without this site! We haven't had to make or purchase any gluten free items as of yet because ds needs to be eating it until his biopsy next week. I just want to be prepared what to look for. Thanks again!
  14. Our 16 mo. old DS was just dx and I started reading labels yet I have no idea what to look for (the obvious being wheat) but what other ingredients to steer clear of? Is there a list out there? TIA
  15. DS was diagnosed the other day w/Celiac and I went to my local store and was so overwhelmed with the expensive prices for gluen free foods and the different brands. Is there a website that would be cheaper than Whole Foods? What are your favorite brands? TIA!!
