  1. Frustrated In Clearwater, Fl

Guppy's on Gulf Blvd. in Indian Rocks just added a new gluten-free menu. I am going there for vacation in July and can't wait to eat there!
  2. there are two where I live and they both stay busy!
  3. Jell-O Mousse Temptations?

    Awesome! Thanks!
  4. Food Starch is in the ingredients. Does anyone know if they are gluten free?
  5. Calhoun's Knoxville, Tn

I am going out with some friend Friday night and they are all wanting to go to Calhoun's. Does anyone know if they have a menu or know anything about gluten-free? Thanks!
  6. Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co.

I ate at the one in Gatlinburg, TN yesterday. They have an actual menu and seemed to know about being gluten free. I ordered the Shrimp and Veggie skewers and it was great! The prices were a little high ($16/meal) but that is to be expected with seafood. Thought I would share this good experience.
  7. Panera Bread Gluten-free List

Yea they are corn tortilla strips. I get it every time I go to Panera now..just make sure to substitute the bread for a bag of chips or an apple.
  8. Newly Diagnosed Away From Home

It's hard but I just keep in mind that I feel so much better now. My friend's go out for pizza and I just sit there with a drink...they always ask "Can't you just eat one slice? It can't be THAT bad!" They just don't understand what it is like . lol I am used to it now though. I get through the day by knowing what I am doing is th best thing for me.
  9. I work at a daycare and we have several kids of different ages that have food allergies. Most of them have more than one allergy too. I think it's crazy that they aren't really even trying to educate themselves on this. The other teacher I work with are extremely cautious about foods being around the kids with allergies. We have a "special" table/high chairs for them to sit at during snacks and lunch so they feel included still but are safe. It is not that hard..the parents send special snacks and packed lunches to school with them. If we are going to have a special treat we have the parents read the ingredients and if it not safe then we find something else to bring. Have you thought about talking to the Daycare Administrator? or finding a different facility?
  10. Something Savory on High Street in Maryville offers a wonderful gluten-free menu. Basically all of their soups are gluten-free. They have awesome chili!! They give you Frito's, cheese and sour cream to put in it! But my favorite thing there is the sandwich bread. It is amazing...I get a chicken salad sandwich every time I go there. There is also, gluten free pasta salad, baked goods, and pizza. The pizza is on a brown rice tortilla..haven't tried it yet. I have had the chocolate-chocolate chip muffin(yum), cupcakes, and the cinnamon-crumble coffee cake. All are awesome! lol
  11. Feeling Leftout

I totally understand..I was diagnosed when I was 19 and before that I always went to random little restaurants with my friends. Then BAM I had to find places where I could eat and not get sick. But luckily my friends are awesome and we go to places that offer gluten-free food. Like UNO's (love their veggie pizza), Qdoba's, five guys burgers and fries, and places like that. I was told that I had celiac when I was 16 and also told that I didn't need to worry about it. But I tried the diet anyway. I remember eating lunch at school and my friends ate their pizza and spicy chicken sandwhiches and I sat there eating rice cakes and carrots. Now it seems like you can find ALMOST anything gluten-free. I buy kinninik(sp?) pizza crusts and they are amazing. lol It will get easier...I find non-gluten-free stuff disgusting
  12. Buddy's Bar-b-q

I eat at the one in Maryville once a week. I always get the pulled chicken dinner with fries or potato salad and corn on the cob. Ask them to leave the hush puppies off though..they always put them on the side of the plate .
  13. Panera Bread Gluten-free List

I ate the BBQ chicken salad the other day. It was very good. There was so much that I couldn't eat all of it!
  14. Any Gluten Free In Knoxville, Tn ?

i know this is an older post but i thought i would add some to it lol i eat at 5guys burgers and fries in turkey creek all the time. I just tell them to hold the bread because of an "allergy" and the manager always tells them to change gloves for my burger and they wrap it in lettuce so the cheese won't stick to the foil. i also, eat at o'charley's, chili's, outback, bonefish there actually is alot of options...for sit-down anyway lol
  15. My family goes there every year. I know that there is a Chili's and a 5guys there. Just wondering if anyone knew of other restaurant worth trying. We also, go to PJ's and Crabby Bills and I get the crab legs with a baked potato. THANKS!
