  1. thank you to all who have posted responses so far! I appreciate all of the input. I guess in some way I am in some denial about how much I need to do/change in my diet and lifestyle. The gluten free products do seem to send my stomach into an absolute mess. I had some gluten free bread with dinner and I am alreday paying for it terribly! So I am going to try what many have mentioned and go to an all natural (no processed gluten free diet) and let things heal up more. I am not sure how to plan a menu with no processed gluten free stuff because I am a picky eater to begin with so if there is any advice on that I would be glad to hear it. (thanks in advavce!) Also. it could be the Crohn's that is acting up but it seemed to have gone into a remission period (which can happen but I and the doctors cannot predict when that starts and stops) so perhaps I am having a flare up. Nut allergies? maybe. That is one I did not consider as I just assumed it was not applicable to me, but with the intense stomach pain and upset that the sesame seeds cause dI suppose it is more than a possibility. So I need to change more drastically, call the doctor, and try to come up with a way to eat all natural non processed gluten free until I figure out what's going on with my stomach or until I feel better and heal. I am disappointed with myself and honestly fed up with all of the things I need to do but that is my own fault. I need just deal with what I need to and get on with things. As for what may stop me from eating gluten free at all times, I will refer to the post with possible reason and I will list reasons for my mistakes below and if anyone has suggestions please feel free to post. It am ready to do whatever I need to do... - gluten-free is not as convenient? - gluten-free food too expensive? - Don't know how to cook tasty gluten-freee foods? - Don't know what to eat? (sometimes I do and sometimes I am not sure) - Don't know how seriously sick you can get from eating gluten? - Don't have the will power? Thanks again to everyone fo rhte insight and suggestions. I was doing much better for a while some time ago. Then when depression and anxiety hit me very hard I slipped up badly and didn't follow the diet as closely and ate gluten at times and now of course my stomach is a mess again. It is also very unpredictable.
  2. Hi all, it's been a long time since I have posted, but I hope everyone is doing well on the site. I have been coping with a lot of stress- depression and anxiety lately and I was getting some intense help for that. I have a question/concern though. Lately I have had a problem eating gluten free products. Here is the thing- sometimes I will eat thigs that have gluten and my stomach will be okay, the only symptoms I will get are the brain fog and exhaustion which are not good of course, but it beats having an upset stomach. The reason I have been doing this is becasue not too long ago, when I was eating gluten free bread products (bagels, etc.) I would get intense severe painful cramping diarrhea afterwards! I felt better sometimes stomachwise when I just ate regular bread products. So, I do not know what to make out of that. Sorry to be so graphic here, but as an example, I had a sesame bagel that was gluten free one day and with in a short time after eating it, I had an awful diarrhea attack that was simply terrible AND the toilet was filled with sesame seeds (way more than I could have possibly even eaten) So, that is what confused me. AGain sorry for the gros details but I am scared and concerned. I evenb have had some blood and mucus in the diarrhea after eating gluten free products. Now, I had a colonoscopy done and they did a small bowel biopsy last Spring and the doctor then diagnosed me with Celiac Disease, si I assume it is accurate. What could be going on with me? I am thinking of starting and trying the elimination diet next week after my birthday passes. I don't want to miss out on some good food on my birthday. Please post ANY suggestion, ideas, or possible explanationss you might have. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hello everyone. I have to be brief here because I do not have much time to post so if more info is needed or if anyone has questions I can pos more details at a later time. The short version is, i have been gluten free for a while. For years, I have suffered from chronic diarrhea, long beofre I knew I had Celiac. Now I am alternating between severe diarrhea and severe constipation, never being "regular". I never used to have that problem. It was always strictly diarrhea. Any idea what could cause this? Anyone else have this? Any advice especially for coping with the constipation as this is new to me nad quite uncomfortable? Thanks in advance!
  4. I have not been online in a long time, but I miss and think of everyone on this site. Unfortunatley I am suffering from severe depression and cannot get past it. I am taking meds and going to extensive therapy, but nothing helps! I don't know what else to do I am even taking high dosages of antidepressants. I am still having a lot of diarrhea and upset stomach (vomiting at times even both ends at once ! UGH!) I'm sure depression is adding to that problem. Anyhow I wanted to say hello to everyone here and I hope I can find a way to get better. This is very painful emotionally and I have no family support in coping with this!
  5. Is there anything out there (a good book or website) that can help me to explain what Celiac is like to live with to my family? They just don't seem to get how tough it can be. If I get tired or weak or need a break thay get very impatient and just don't seem to get it! Thanks in advance for any input!
  6. I have been gluten free for a while. I really miss the good tasting foods especially now that it is Summer. I just want to go and have a good burger and a beer or something like that! Anyway, I am still getting diarrhea pretty often and I don't know how to deal with it in a public restroom anymore. I have posted about this topic before, but I had another problem with it yesterday! I was at the local community center when I got a sudden stomach ache and needed to get to the bathroom as diarrhea struck. This happens more often than I would like it o but I can't help it. So I go in and I use the stall only to have (what sounded like younger teenage kids enter the restroom). They immediately started laughing and whispering going look eww, etc. because I was using the stall and pooping. I was soo embarassed and that is not the first time that happened to me lately. It has happened a few times and I am so sick of dealing with that! I hate using public restrooms when I have diarrhea in the first place and this makes it ten times worse. SO frustratuing! Also I am still suffering with depression and my docotrs have tried different meds but they don't seem to work so I am sick of that too! uggghhh! Does anyone have any suggestions?
  7. I am overly depressed. It's not the first time I have been this way, but it seems worse that ever now and I am at the end of my rope and out of patience with this!!! I have been put on more meds/ antidepressants but I see no improvement. This just plain stinks!!!!
  8. Feeling Sick Today:(

So sorry you feel that way. I can certainly relate! Hope you feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Do You Get Diarrhea?

I have been gluten free for a few months now and I am still getting diarrhea all of the time! Also I now get nausea and vomiting which I din't get before. Next step for me is the elimination diet.
  10. Hello everyone. Can anyone help me with getting on the elimination diet? I am unable to get my insurance company to pay for a nutritionist, and I need to go on the elimination diet. Does anyone know a website that migth explain step by step how to follow the diet? I'm not sure what exactly to do or how long to eat certain foods and what to eat or how o prepare the food. Thanks for any help in advance!
  11. I don't know if I a glutening again or if I ate some bad food, stomach virus. or what. Since i woke up I have had horrible, severely urgent diarrhea and stomach cramps. It literally feels like I am on fire! I can't take it anymore. I simply must find a better, more helpful doctor soon!
  12. Upset Stomach Yet Again!

Thanks everyone. I'm doing a little better. There have been a couple days here and there when my appetite is back and I am hungry- that hasn't happened in ages. On those days I eat a little bit more. Not a ton of food, just a little more, and I tend to get very bloated and sick forn that tiny bit of extra food. It's annoyinh, I just have to stick to small bland portions still if I want to function. I'll be taking my class on a field trip on June 11th. I have absolutley NO IDEA what to do about bathroom stuff on that day! I may not eat the night before or the day of! Any suggestions to help with that?
  13. Hello everyone. I am a little down tonigh. I had a couple of good days near the end of this past week. I even had an appetite for the first timein months. That all ended yesterday (Sunday) morning. I had diarrhea when I woke up and I have pretty much had it since. It's MOnday nioght now and I keep getting struck with diarrhea. The only good part is that I am not in a lot of pain with it (while going or after going), but the need to go when I get hit has been extremely urgent. I have had some close calls!
  14. Celiac & Seizures?

I have had my blood sugar checked and it was okay, but the doctor didn't check it today. He did however bring it uo and said to try to eat 4 times a day to keep the blood sugar up just in case, but that he didn't think it was that.
  15. I have been dealing with memory loss and dizzy spells/ brain fog for months now. Also, I have been dealing with exhaustion. But, yesterday I came dangerously close to passing out in my classroom at work. First it felt like the ground was moving under me and tilting me back and forth and side to side. Then I got weaker and dizzier. Then, I statred to not be able to see. I was only able to see a tiny bit of the filing cabinet in front of me. I was trying to grab onto something for support and began to moan and groan. Then I just kind of came out of it without keeling over and hitting the floor. It scared me terribly though. I saw the doctor today and he wants me to get to a neurologist right away to check for seizure disorder. I did have a seizure problem when I was a kid, but it went away and hadn't bothered me since. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there any connection with Celiac?
