  2. I live in a small town in Ky. We now have a new restaurant called Chedder's Causal Cafe. (I had not heard of it until now) Does anyone know whether or not they have any items on the menu that is gluten free? I am 62 and have only been diagnosed since April 07. Living in a small town makes eating out a real challenge and not a very pleasent one. I have emailed the cafe but they never bothered to respond.
  3. I am just wondering if anyone else with Celiac have what I can only refer to as something like the roof of my mouth has been burned. It feels like the tissue is constantly peeling off. Just wondering if this is from gluten that I could possibily still be getting from some unknown source. Just wondering if its from gluten?

    Welcome to the world without Gluten! I am new at this also. Just been diagnosted as of March 14 of this yr. (I am 61) I still feel over whaled at times. For me, the toughest thing so far is eating out. We live in a small town in Ky. and I have yet to met another Celiac person. This forum is wonderful. I can find out answers to almost all your questions here. I also ordered the Gluten free for Dummies. I am trying to learn how to read labels and be able to spot the words that indicate gluten. Be patient. After 2 months, I am beginning to feel so much better. BYW, one book that I really have found very good is Celiac Disease, a Hidden Epidemic, by Dr. Peter Green & Rory Jones. (Another is The Gluten Free Diet by Shelly Case) Feel free is email me. I am new at this also. BYW, I found the Wild Oats Store to be a great place to shop for gluten free foods. Hang in there!     Just wondering if any one knows for sure, whether the southwestern salad (with glazed chicken) is gluten free? I have been trying to find out myself without any luck?
  8. I have only been diagnosted with Celiac for about 2 months, so I am new to all of this. What is the best flour to use for baking? I go out every morning for coffee at Tim Horton's and since nothing there is gluten free, I need to take my own. I have tried Tom Sawyer's. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  9. I have only been diagnosted with Celiac for approximately 2 months. I did not know that you can have a gluten intolerance and not have Celiac. Interesting. I just thought that if you are intolerant to gluten that mean you have Celiac. I have a lot to learn.
