      thanks for the reply

My daughter told me late last night that my husband reached in and ate chips. Im sure he didnt wash his hands after eating gluten. It just makes me so mad for his total disregard for me and her and how we feel after we have eaten it. I dont think he thinks of anyone but himself at times or he just doesnt believe that it could makes us that sick. You would think someone having a seizure over it every time would clue him in. My nephew has peanut allergies and while I dont I make sure he doesnt come exposed to anything while he is in my house that could make him sick.

I have been gluten free for years and so has he by default in our house. I just dont think he has any respect for how others feel. I did feel bad before when he started getting diarrhea from eating it after going gluten free in our house but I truly think it was for a reason since if he is getting it also he will clue in.

Do Others Get Mad And Agitated When They Have Been Glutened?
Im pissed honestly and I dont know if its my true feelings or if Im just ticked off because of a reaction my body is having. Me, my daughter, and husband were over at my mil's house. I bring our own food always. I dont allow any gluten in my household at all as me and my daughter both have strong reactions to it. To me it is no different than spreading rat poison on my food.

I was in the other room when my daughter opened her lays stax chips (which we have never had a reaction to) when I wasnt in the room and I didnt think anything of it. We brought them home and I ate some. I have already had a seizure tonight and Im waiting for the diarrhea to kick in. The joint pain and migraine have already started. My daughter is also reacting to it already. Im just pissed off now as I just know someone ate out of the chips container and I dont know if it was my mil not thinking like her normal self or my husband who likes to cheat on gluten when we go out. I hate getting glutened as it makes me feel horrible for days. My daughter is cranky and hyper tonight (normal reaction for her) while I can barely keep my eyes open. Of course my husband is gone to work and cant stay up with her because its all I can do to keep my eyes open right now. Its near 12:30am and my 5 year old is wide awake and cant relax and sleep.

I feel like an ogre for saying this but if it was him that caused this I hope he is having diarrhea now from the gluten at work (which he sometimes does) as a payback for tonight

Sorry for the rant it just makes me so mad and he is insensitive to how I have to deal with a glutening. He better thank his lucky stars he is not here tonight since with the way I feel I dont know if I could keep my emotions under control. Im just sick of feeling this way and I dont feel I should have to or have my little 5 year old go through it when my husband doesnt use his head. Even if my mil reached in he knows to mention to her not to do it that ashley will pull some out as it could cross contaminate it.

We did ours dairy and egg free but used spectrum shortening instead of butter and added just a smidgen of water to compensate for the liquid. It took longer to cook, maybe 10 minutes more at 325 and it turned out perfectly.

YUM! I had the brownies last night and wow! It tasted like I was eating the old gluten mixes I loved so much. I called the company and she said they are in the process of making more gluten free mixes due to overwhelming responses

I have ate two boxes of the honey nut gluten free without a problem. My reaction is pretty obvious too that is distinctive to gluten. I havent tried the cinnamon yet as we dont eat milk.

My niece and nephew cant have soy, gluten or pineapple. Do you have any recipes that would exclude these. Usually I just make sweet and sour for ourselves but I dont know how to make it without pineapple.

Bunnie- If split into two days. Fondant cooked one day and the other made the next its not much time at all. Written out it looks much more difficult than it is. I like chocolate covered strawberries too but I love the creamy center of the chocolate covered cherries.

I agree with ridgewalker it sounds like norwalk virus. I had that and I must have thrown up over 20 times even the tiniest of liquids and had D so bad that I had horrible cramping in my legs. It took weeks for me to feel really good. Our whole family had it over Christmas two years ago.

Im sorry you have been sick and Im glad your back on the mend. I would get the scope done anyways, its a good idea to get a peek around there just to make sure everythings okay.

      Chocolate Covered Cherries Recipe
      3 cups sugar
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
      1/4 cup light corn syrup
60 maraschino cherries with stems (do not use fresh cherries)
24 ozs enjoy life chocolate chips
shortening or margarine ( I used smart balance light)

Preparing the fondant- Grease a 9x13 pan and set aside.

Combine the sugar, water and corn syrup in a saucepan. Using wooden spoon stir gently over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely and syrup comes to a boil.

Using a candy thermometer cook the syrup, WITHOUT stirring, until it reaches 240 degrees (soft ball)

Immediately pour the hot syrup in the prepared 13x9 pan. Let the syrup cool undisturbed until the bottom of the pan feels lukewarm to the touch. Using another wooden spoon stir the mixture till it forms a ball. Some fondant may stick to the pan. Seal the ball into a 1 gallon plastic bag removing as much air as possible. Let fondant rest for 1 minute before continuing. With the fondant sealed in the bag roll the candy with the heel of your hand pressing down towards the counter. Continue this till fondant look smooth and creamy and feels like a firm cookie dough (around 10 minutes). Set fondant aside. wrapped in plastic.

(The fondant can be made up to a week ahead of time and kept well wrapped in fridge)

Drain the cherries, reserve the liquid. Place cherries on paper towel to absorb excess liquid. grease or put margarine on a cookie sheet line with wax paper and set it aside.

Place fondant in the top of a double boiler set over simmering water. stir fondant until it melts. Stir gently until it reaches 150 degrees. Turn off heat.

Stir in 2 or 3 tablespoons of reserved cherry liquid to give the fondant a pink color and a cherry flavor. Should the fondant fall below 150 degrees slight simmer while stirring till it reaches 150 again.

Dip cherries by the stem and quickly dip in melted fondant (avoid getting it on the stem) place it on the prepared cookie sheet. Stir fondant occasionally while dipping them. If fondant is to thick add more cherry liquid 1 tablespoon at a time.

Melt 12 ozs chocolate in double boiler, when chocolate is melted remove top from the bottom and add the remaining chocolate chips and stir till smooth. The optimal temp is 88 to 90 degrees, either put it back on the pan if needed or let it cool till then. Hold the cherry by the stem and dip it in the chocolate and place on waxed cookie sheet and do the rest of them. Let sit at room temp for 2 hours and then place in the refrigerator overnight or 8 to 10 hours as the chocolate hardens and the fondant liquefies.

Store in covered container for up to 2 weeks in refrigerator.

Julie- It took me a long time to get it how I like it. I did find with namaste the more thinner layers the better. The bigger cakes dont do as well unless I use the pads you wrap around the pans for more even cooking.

missys mom- The strawberry puree does sound good, thanks for the idea.

Cheri- Thanks, Im not as satisfied I would be to turn one in but maybe one day I look at it and see mistakes here and there and what I would change. The perfectionist in me is coming out
