  1. Insect Bites And Celiac Disease

Thanks guys for all your helpful insight! You guys are so knowledgeable!
  2. Hi everyone, Does anyone else have this odd thing happen to them? i am not sure if it is at all related to Celiac Disease, but you never know. I attract mosquitoes like crazy and when I get bit, I really get bit. then, they itch like crazy, swell up and then go away, but usually leave scars! My legs are so UGLY! it seems never ending and I feel like the only one in the world! can anyone relate? thank you!
  3. A Lady Thing

i have always had horrible cramps, but i had it long before i went gluten free. i actually thought they were getting a little better once i started the diet. who knows? now i am confused. i thought bad cramps might have been linked to celiac disease in general. hmmmm...
  4. yes, i have had my share of teasings. they make comments like "hey, want to go to lunch at pot belly sandwich? oh wait, you can't eat sandwiches." they think it's cute. they make fun of my celiac shirts, too and say things like "can i get one that says, "i love my retarded cousin". this is after i have bought them one that says "someone i love is a celiac". it hurts my feelings, but they simply don't understand that celiac is real and it is painful. i try not to take personally.
  5. Symptom Check

GLAD this topic was so helpful and popular! it really helped me to relate and know that i am not alone in my gluten symptoms!
  6. Symptom Check

thanks for sharing! oh yeah, I forgot, I get these, too! 1. fatigue 2. tingly feet (more like the feet always fall asleep) 3. dental problems due to malabsorbtion of vitamins
  7. Gas, Help

is there anything that helps with the embarrassing gas problem? i am sooooooooooo embarrassed, but nothing seems to work. Gas X for sure does nothing and neither has anything else. am i the only one with this problem that really cramps your social life? HELP! thanks.
  8. Symptom Check

Hi, I thought it would be interesting to find out what your most common symptoms are for when you have ingested wheat. Here goes mine! I just would like to compare myself to other celiacs. 1. Excessive Bloating 2. Constipation 3. Gas Anyone else predominently have these symptoms? I never get diarreah and it seems most celiacs do.
  9. Are corn tortilla chips gluten free? safe? thanks, guys! Sorry, I am a new celiac!
  10. Celiac Disease And Your Teeth

Wow! it's great to know that I am not alone on all my dental DRAMA! I never understood why I kept getting cavities when I was taking care of my teeth. I guess soft teeth are a common effect of celiac keeping you from absorbing vitamins. THANK YOU ALL for your input!
  11. All, I am wondering if any of you are having the same issue I am. I was recently diagnosed Celiac and never knew my whole life. I am now 28. I took very good care of my teeth, however, no matter what I did, I got cavities. It's as if my teeth are just thin or something. I have read somewhere that Celiac disease can affect your teeth because your body does not absorb vitamins like calcium, etc. My question is, is this true? Do any of you have bad teeth? I am wondering if it's just me! HELP! Thanks!
  12. Forgive me for I have sinned. I broke down and ate a sandwich. I couldn't help it. It was the only thing around and I was hungry. I feel bloated now. HELP! has this happened to anyone else? did they cheat?
  13. Gas And Bloating

oh my gosh! thank you for all your help. i had no idea though that i had to eliminate all the stuff from my shampoo to lipstick?!???? you have got to be kidding me. is there any lipstick i can wear? what shampoos can i use? i had no idea! how does the gluten seep from your head or skin into your intestines? i am confused. this is really strange! thank you in advance for all your help! ps did anyone else have embarrassing gas with their celiac disease prior to the gluten free diet?
  14. Gas And Bloating

Hi! I was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease. I have been my whole life diagnosed as someone with IBS. As you can imagine, it is very uspsetting to find out that you have been suffering so long and taking meds you don't need. at any rate, my main symptoms where gas and bloating. when i cut out wheat, it dramatically went down, which is great. however, sometimes i still get bloated and i don't know why. i am only 1 and a half months into the gluten-free diet, but is it normal to still have a lot of gas? is there anything i can take to reduce it. i have tried gas-x and it doesn't work. nothing seems to work. this is a really embarrassing problem so any advice is appreciated! sorry if i grossed you out!
