  1. Replacement Pop-tarts?

    O my goodness, me too!! I cant live without poptarts, but I DID find a recipe for gluten-free poptarts online! Hope this helps! *Ashley*
  2. *1 and3/4 cups of gluten-free all purpose flour (I prefer Bob's Red Mill) *1/4 cup sugar *2 teaspoons baking powder *1/2 teaspoon salt *1 beaten egg *3/4 cup milk (If milk/dairy-free, use LACTAID milk) *1/3 cup cooking oil In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center. Combin egg, milk, and oil. Add egg mixture all at once to flour mixture. Stir just till moistened; batter should be lumpy. Grease muffin cups, or line with paper bake cups; fill 2/3 full. Spoon 1 teaspoon of jelly atop the batter in each muffin cup before baking. Bake in a 400* oven for 19-25 minutes or till golden. Serve warm. Makes 10 to 12 muffins! ENJOY!!

    Never skip breakfast! It will make you weak for the rest of the day. Instead of an apple, have and apple and a bannana. Its a little more for more energy, also, dont eat so low-calorie. Have small snack in the day if you arent exactly hungry. Drink something like juice instead of water, but keep water in your diet!

  6. I like raisins, strawberries, peaches, bannanas, cherries, and blueberries. Also, if you are craving sweets then find a cake recipe and use rice flour to replace flour and Splenda to replace sugar. Splenda is a 0 calorie artificial sweetner WITHOUT aspartame(which is bad for your body) If you want to shape up for summer start jogging/walking/stretching and lifting light weights. Before you work out, make sure you stock up on protein. Protein helps your muscles build easier. Try fish,eggs, and low-calorie protein bars. A gluten-free protein bar is GenSoy in Chunky CHocolate peanut butter fudge. Good luck!
  7. Bessie: Wow! I can relate to this. In December I was stupid and went on a low-fat diet (when not really necessary) My doctor says extremely lowfat diets can cause gluten intolerancy. After this extremly low fat diet i was on, I became gluten intolerant a few months later. Hope this helped!!
  8. I am 14 and I think I have Celiac. It is EXTREMELY hard for me to gain weight. My doctors think I may have a malabsorption problem. That's when your intestines do not absorb your food and fats correctly. Some doctors call this "Leaky Gut Syndrome" also, this may disgust you, but if your child has "floating" stools when the have a bowl movement, then that means they are not absorbing their fat in the food correctly.   11. Hi, I'm Ashley and I'm 14 years old. I have been gluten-free for about 3 weeks. On Friday I was tested for Celiac Disease. My docotor said MANY of her patients are gluten-intolerant, but the Celiac Disease does not show up! Its very clear to me that whenever I eat gluten I am in pain, and when I dont, I feel fine. The test said I did NOT have Celiac Disease. Thats great, but are any of you gluten-intolerant w/out Celiac? Just Curious, Ashley
  12. Recovering From A Gluten Accident

    Hi, I'm new to the boards I am 14 years old and in the last 3 weeks I have discovered that I am gluten-intolerant. My mom and I have been learning more each day(sometimes learning the hard way ) But anyways, The other day we bought Soy cookies that were labeled WHEAT-FREE and I had 4 cookies within 2 days! My stomach has been slightly messed up! Yesterday I read the ingredients througoughly and it had Barley AND oats!! I think when I eat prunes( which make you go to the bathroom) helps get gluten out of your system! Maybe you should try that sometime!
