  1. I thought I posted this last night but I dint see it. A guy from Mission tortillas called me back and said right now they're only available in Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona. They're hoping to have them nationwide soon.
  2. I think they taste like regular flour tortillas! They're really good!! Kinda pricey but what gluten free product isn't?! I think they're $5 for 8 tortillas.
  3. Let's see if this works image by ibepatience, on Flickr image by ibepatience, on Flickr
  4. I'm not sure if you know about these, but Mission started making gluten free tortillas! They're really, really good. They look, feel and taste like a real flour tortillas! I've found them at Von's, Ralph's and Albertsons in Riverside, CA. They're just stuck in with all the regular tortillas. There's nothing about them on Missions website and I emailed them but haven't heard back. I just wanted to share this exciting find! I hate it when they release a new gluten-free product but no one knows about it so they don't sell well and end up discontinuing them. If you're like me you don't even look in the bread and tortilla section anymore :-) I found out about them by a fluke. My college daughter was home for Christmas break and one of her friends from school tagged her in a Facebook post from a Colorado Celiac group asking if anyone had seen the new Mission gluten-free tortillas in the store. Someone had heard they existed but no one believed it and there was nothing about them existing online anywhere. The next day my husband was at Albertsons and saw them on the end cap tortilla section and brought me home a pack. I'm not sure how to post a picture, I haven't been on here in years. I have a picture of the front and ingredients.
  5. We were is San Diego last month and there is so many choices I want to live there. There is a Pei Wei, Chipolte and a Z Pizza. In Poway there is a Red Brick pizza and in Temecula there is a Pizza Fusion. But my absolute favorite is that the Whole Foods in La Jolla (right by San Diego) serves gluten free deli sandwiches made to order! They were the best! Amazing gluten free bread and anything you want on it! I got a turkey, bacon and avacado sandwich and it was enough for lunch and dinner!
  6. Ok, I'm so excited I had to share this with everyone! I was at the Celiac Convention today in Pasadena, CA and I just found out that Doughboys Pizza (which I posted previously about being the BEST pizza but is located in Central California - about 6 hours from me) now ships their pizza and is starting to sell in stores! She said she is working on getting them in Albertsons Grocery and will try to get them into more health food type stores all over. I had some today and bought two to take home to bake. They are pricey but isn't all gluten free pizza and it is soooo good! I tried the one with pesto and artichokes, YUMMY! The web site also says they can accommodate no cheese, soy cheese and other requests. Here is the link to the website about the pizzas available in stores: Here is a link to the online purchase:
  7. Ok I might be over-reacting but we were considering eliminating soy and we realized it is in 95% of what she is eating. What do you eat when you are vegan and can't have soy? She cannot survive on fruits and veggies! Is there a soy free dairy free butter? Does anyone know which rice milk is gluten free?
  8. Thank you all for your advice. I am Briana's mom and I suggested that she post on here for help since the doctor is getting a little frustrated with us. I think we will try eliminating the soy and try rice milk, which brands are good and gluten free? She eats a LOT of potatoes. She is taking the methylcobalamin form sublingual B12 but I think I am going to get her a B complex. I always thought people should get their vitamins through their diet as well but she is so limited I am concerned she is not getting enough. The only other medication she is on right now is the pepcid and she has to take that or she is miserable! We have check all personal care products and I think they are all safe. She meant dairy free butter. She eats the Earths Balance kind. I think the frequent urination is from the crystals in her urine which I think was from the calcium she was taking. I had her stop that since she should be getting enough from the spinich and soy milk (and hopefully rice milk) and hopefully that will get better soon. Wow, thank you all again I feel so bad for her and I want to help her figure this all out.
  9. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  10. Is Caltrate ok? My daughter takes that.... I hope it is

  13. Thank you and I really do respect everyones opinion and willingness to take the risk. I emailed the company and wiil see what they say. If they say the same thing about the grass being young and such I think I am going to try it. I have been gluten free for a year and a half. I am not "officially" celiac but have double DQ2 and have absolutely no gastro symptoms since going gluten free so I consider myself celiac. If I get contaminated I usually know within a day so it will be easy to find out if its safe. And they have a 90 day money back guarantee so I won't be out the money. Unless anyone knows of a gluten free antioxidant (preferably not a pill) that they like. And I know if I ate better I wouldn't have to supplement but I am extremely picky and have a hard time eating most fruits because I have a phobia of worms (I swear I am not crazy) and I have the most stressful life so I know I need supplements and I really believe in the power of antioxidants in fighting/preventing things like cancer and I found some lumps in my breast a few months ago and it scares me alot. They are "watching" them for now but I want to do whatever I can to prevent it since everyone in my family that has died has died of cancer. Thanks to everyone for their advice!
  14. I didn't think the Quaker ones were either. I love the Lundberg kind though! The apple cinnamon and bananna nut are really good alone and with peanut butter its almost as good as a sandwich!
