  2. We are going to Cabo San Lucas the beginning of Nov. for a week. We are staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. Has anyone stayed there? Will I be able to buy Gluten-free foods in stores and restaurants? When I e-mailed the hotel they said they did not know of "that kind of food" and I should bring my food from the states. Flying from SC--that would almost be impossible. Has anyone had this problem? Help Judy from SC

  7. Hawaii The Big Island

We are going to Hawaii on the 18th of April and are staying at The Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort. We are flying from So Carolina to Arizona and are staying there for 1 night and then on to Hawaii. I cannot take too many of my foods--they will either spoil are get crushed so I will need to buy food when I get to Hawaii. Are there any stores near by that carry gluten free foods? Can anyone advise me as to what I should pack to eat on the plane. The trip to Arizona won't be bad but I really do not know what to take to eat on the plane from Arizona to Hawaii. I would imagine that will be a long flight. We have never taken a trip this long since I have been Dx with Celiac's. I would appreciate any help. Judy in So. Carolina )
  8. Travel

I will be spending 3 days in Tuscon and 5 days in Flagstaff AZthe end of May. Does anyone live in/ or have traveled to these areas that could that could tell me some good "safe" restaurants?. Since we are flying I am limited as to foods I can take with me. I am really stressing over this. Thanks Judy Naradowski
  9. Neuropathy

Hi I was diagnosed with perepheral neuropathy in 1998 and was diagnosed with celiac's just one year ago. I have burning tingling and numbness from my toes to my knees on both legs-----my fingers have been ok so far. Since I have been on the gluten-free diet I have not had any relief from the neuropathy. I am hoping that with time I will. Everyone is different---good luck to you. Judy Naradowski
  10. Thank-you for the info on soy lecithin Judy Naradowski
  11. Everytime I try to click on one of the sites for the gluten free food lists I am kicked off the internet. I have a question---is soy lecithin ( an ingredient in many foods ) safe or unsafe?
  12. Would like some feedback

Hi I am new to this also. It takes me forever to grocery shopping as I do read all the labels. I have found however that when I am in doubt I call the company. For the most part they have all been very helpful, however they urge you to read all the labels as their formulas change frequently--this adds to the frustration.I have trouble with the food additives. I have been on this diet a little over a year now and must say I do feel better. I am not up almost every night until 2or 3am "running". I have found that when I do cheat I am reminded of those nights, the pains and bloating and do not want to experience that again. It is a real challenge--especially when we go out to eat or go on vacation. I am still not to sure how to handle our next trip as we will be flying and then staying for a week in AZ. If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate them. I cannot bring my own food for a week on a plane.
  13. This was so easy to do, Thank-you for the format. Everyone should follow your directions. It would definitely benefit all of us with celiac disease Judy Naradowski
  14. I am new to all of this and I hope someone can answer my question. If a food contains 1 or more of these additives and is produced in the United States-----modified food starch, maltodextrin, mono and diglycerides, flavoring artificial or natural, are they safe to eat? There is no support group in my area, I live in Seneca SC near Greenville. Thank-you for your time
