  1. Thanks to both of you for your fast responses! i appreciate you taking the time to help out! I know that Emmanuel and OHSU/Doernbecher have reputations for excellent children's services, so I will just plan on seeing whomever has opportunity to work with us. take good care and thanks!
  2. Hello, I am NEWLY DIAGNOSED with celiac disease (from a GI with the Positive Blood Antibody test-Total IGa) and awaiting an endoscopy for final confirmation next week. I know how important it is for me to have both of my daughters tested (they are 10 & 13). My younger is already likely exhibiting some symptoms of early celiac disease. i really need a GOOD PEDIATRIC GASTRO recommendation that has a specialty for CELIACs here in the HILLSBORO, OREGON AREA or ST. VINCENT HOSPITAL area? i had seen a few recommendations, but these docs were all the way downtown at OHSU/Doernbechers.. I live in HILLSBORO OREGON area, but can travel as far as ST. VINCENT HOSPITAL territory for more frequent doctor visits, etc. (anywhere in between). Does anyone have any recommendations for a PED/GI specializing with Celiacs out in this area? (if not, i can go into Portland downtown), but i was hoping to stay out in the Hillsboro / Westside area. SURE APPRECIATE any responses from anyone in this area! I have learned A GREAT DEAL already from this website! Thanks again . Holly L
  3. Hello, I am NEWLY DIAGNOSED with celiac disease (from a GI with the Positive Blood Antibody test-Total IGa) and awaiting an endoscopy for final confirmation next week. Unfortunately for me, my current internal med/PC wouldnt listen to my request earlier on to be tested for celiac disease and just kept sending me out for other blood tests/scans that didnt reveal anything for my symptoms. Even my current GI didnt believe i had celiac disease until after a colonoscopy when i finally convinced him to do a blood test for celiac disease and it just came back positive. It was actually myself/husband who put together that my 3 months of symptoms could actually be Celiacs and we pushed my GI to test me fo it My Current internal med just kept sending me to specialist after specialist and running blood test after blood test to no avail for other problems. So, my current GI doesnt seem to be super knowledgeable on CELIACs, even though he is doing my endoscopy, etc. so i'll be switching to one of the RECOMMENDED Gi's from this website at the OREGON CLINIC, but i need a MASTER STRATEGIST/INTERNAL MED that can manage my overall long-term care (and my GI's work as well!).. I already have READ ABOUT GOOD GI's that I will go to see at the OREGON CLINIC (Dr. Kaynard or Jason Lee Stone.,etc). but what i'm looking for now is THE INTERNAL MED that is my 'main strategist', who can be purusing my overall condition yet having the knowledge of Celiacs and thus determining what my GI specialist (in the area of Celiacs) might thus need to handle. Someone who is not narrowly defined like a specialist might be, but can see the bigger picture of my overall condition/health care while running down other leads as necessary. I live in HILLSBORO OREGON area, but can travel as far as ST. VINCENT HOSPITAL territory. (anywhere in between). I've read a great deal on the internet (yes, i've read about Char Glen, but she's so far from where i live and for an Internist, someone i need to see ever 3-6 mos, i need that person to be much closer) SURE APPRECIATE any responses from anyone in this area! I have learned A GREAT DEAL already from this website! Thanks again for ANY HELPFUL RESPONSES.
