  1. I recently was diagnosed with celiac disease in December, however I had a negative endoscopy. Over the course of several months my GI doctor gave me the blood test for celiac disease twice, and both times it came back conclusively positive. My doctor told me that even though the endoscopy came back with a negative biopsy she was sure that I had celiac disease. My mom doesn't know whether she wants to trust this or not so were sending the reports to another GI, however personally I feel that I probably do have it; I've had a lot of the symptoms for 2 years now. Anyone have any input? Thanks. Erin
  2. Heyy... I'm 17 and just got diagnosed with celiac disease at the end of December. I was wondering if anyone here is catholic because I'm having a hard time with the eucharist when i go to mass on sundays. The host has wheat in it and the wine is contaminated from people who recieve the host and then go straight to the wine. The priests at my parish haven't been too accomodating and I was wondering if anyone had any advice. It would be great if I could just bring in a rice cracker or something to be consecrated but the Vatican wont allow it. Let me kno if ur goin thru this too... thanks! - Erin
  3. Hi I'm 17 years old and was just diagnosed with celiac disease a few days before this past Christmas. Ever since, my older brother has been working at developing a website/cellular phone program that could change the way celiacs have to live forever! It's great, it's still in the making but it is a website in which there is a FREE program to be downloaded onto most versions of cellular phones. Once downloaded, your phone will have an accessible database of all the safe foods celiacs can eat when we're out. He needs you're help though.. it's going to take alot of work to fill in all the safe foods into the database... check out the volunteer section and help him help us! the address is www.safetoeat.net - Erin
  4. I'm so glad I saw all this I thought I was going crazy and was the only one... I feel the SAMEE WAYY. It's so annoying I feel like the more I eat the hungrier I get, and no matter what I do I'm still starving. I was just recently diagnosed so I've only been gluten-free for a couple of weeks but the insatiable hunger is nothing new... if i find anyway to satisty it i'll let ya's know - Erin
