  1. This is hysterical!!! I love it!!!!
  2. I finally used my Coconut flour! I made a double batch of these. They were incredible the whole family liked these. I got this recipe from the Whole Foods website. Makes about 18 cookies 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 2 large eggs 1/2 teaspoon gluten-free vanilla extract 1/3 cup cocoa powder 1/4 cup coconut flour 1/2 cup gluten-free chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) Preheat oven to 350
  3. I thought I remember reading this was on the safe list....I read the package and the only thing that seems suspect is carmel color. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks!
  4. gluten-free Grocery/food In Orlando?

Publix is in orlando, you might want to use the store locater on their website and map it from your hotel. Publix is great, the have a small section where the organic stuff is and they have gluten free stuff there. They also carry Amy's in the freezer section. I know that there is a whole foods in winter park, but I don't know how far that is from Disney.
  5. New Girl With Questions

I too enjoy the Sami's Bakery bread it really is good, someone just the other day has advised of the major cross contamination. I have personally stopped purchasing this to see if it makes a difference.
  6. I have a GP and GI Dr in Seminole....GP is Dr. Babu Paladugu- he was the one to diagnose me....The GI I go to is Dr. Badani. Good luck!
  7. Dinner Shows In Orlando?

We ate at the Hoopdy do review at Disney's Fort Wilderness. We had an amazing dinner! The show was great too! They even had gluten free rolls that were amazing. Best of luck!
  8. My family is great, they all are making something gluten-free for our 4th of July BBQ. We are having: Beer can chicken (using Redbridge of course!) Calico beans Potato Salad Corn on the cob Sausage cheese dip with fritos Watermelon Dream Pie What are you having?
  9. Hi all- I started a new job yesterday, it is a great thing....Everything is better except for the fact of my food restrictions. You forget how foriegn this all is to other people! I work in downtown, you walk everywhere especially for lunch! I am unfamiliar with every resturuant and my department wanted to take me out to lunch. I regretfully declined, but it still is so hard to explain this stuff to everyone around you for the first is going to take months! Anyone know of any cafe or resturaunt in downtown Tampa??? Sorry to vent, but I know you all understand!
  10. Bonefish Grill

What about the kids menu? has anyone taken their kids that are gluten-free with them? What did they get, I think I am going to order an adult entree for the both of them to split.
  11. I had an injection in my shoulder about 3 months ago. The injection itself didn't really hurt to bad, it was the pain right after that bothered me. I had great relief from the injection and I can tell that I am due for another!
  12. I threw a baby shower for my sister just a few months ago. We had a baked potato bar and salad, everyone was pleased even the non gluten-free people.... We had all of the toppings to choose from, cheese, sour cream, broccoli and cheese, chili, bacon bits and of course butter. It was a real hit and very easy to do! Good luck!
  13. Pain Meds After C-section

I took percocet (sp?) with no problems at all.
  14. Dissability Insurance?

When I first got really ill, I did file for short term disability. I did receive checks for about 6 months, however when I finally got a diagnosis they denied any further benifits (even though I was still not well). If you are unable to work you should file a claim. Good Luck!
  15. My son is in the 5th percentile for his weight as well......he is not a celiac! (we have had him tested sooooo many times) He is almost 8 and only weighs in about 42lbs. We do add "beefy milk" to his diet, this was recommended by his Dr. - since he has been drinking this (about 2 months) he has gained almost 4 pounds. Beefy Milk 6 oz Milk 1pkt of Carnation instant breakfast 1oz corn syrup 1oz corn oil Sometimes we will throw a bananna in there too! We do this every morning with his breakfast, we call it his morning milk shake!
