  1. How many courses of antibiotics have you taken in your life? My theory is that a lot of Celiacs have had several, possibly higher than the average population.
  2. Has anyone out there gone through with a Fecal / Stool Transplant that has Celiac disease? If so, what were the outcomes? I think it would be a great way to replace the good bacteria I have lost from countless rounds of antibiotics in my life. I think it could help with inflammation, food digestion, proper stool function, and possibly even improve mood, etc See You can google and read countless stories of those "out there" who have gone through this process and restored their digestive health...
  3. I don't know off hand, but I would highly recommend getting a copy of Dr. Peter Green's book - Celiac Disease a Hidden Epedemic, he covers all of these tests in that book in a way that is easy for the reader to understand.
  4. I have this upper left quadrant pain as well; this is the pain that caused me to get an endoscopy & colonoscopy & CT scan to see what was going on. None of them showed a thing, except for visible scalloping in the intestine, which upon further review, turned out to be Celiac Sprue. The pain that I have is worse when driving, sitting for long periods of time, eating fatty foods and eating in general (but especially with fatty foods). It's odd, and I haven't been able to find anything that conclusively aggravates or helps it, despite seeing help through many different avenues. Does anyone that has this had a follow-up biopsy to see if things are truly healed up? Has anyone with this pain been able to overcome it, and if so how?
  5. Where do you get gluten-free Kefir grains?
  6. What about the facility where it is processed? Do they sample the product to ensure it is indeed Gluten Free?
  7. quincy, Please let us know how the tests turn out. How long have you been gluten-free? What types of enzymes are/were you taking? I had some issues with fat digestion a few weeks back, but apparently that was at least partially caused by some gluten that snuck its way into my diet. I have been chatting with some others and hypothesizing that fat digestion problems are actually caused by continued inflammation - which could be caused by either continued trace gluten exposure OR by some other food allergen causing continuous inflammation. I am wondering if you are constantly getting some trace amounts of gluten as well? I have been looking on some other websites and finding lots of products I thought were "safe" actually test positive for Gluten..... :-/
  8. who is your celiac specialist doctor and where are they located? I need one...
  9. I think your theory is more of a hypothesis - but I would encourage you to do some research. That being said, there IS research that shows that digestive enzyme supplementation helps patients with celiac disease
  10. Have you found any safe, gluten free enzymes?
  11. How's the lactase working out for you - and everyone? What are some recommended enzymes that work? I have been reading a lot about enzymatic deficiency in Celiac and I think it might be an issue for me as I still have issues even though blood antibodies have normalized.
  12. Digestive Enzymes?

What kind of enzymes do you recommend?
  13. Digestive Enzymes?

How did those enzymes work out?
  14. Posters in this thread: How are you doing? Did you find anything to help your fat absorption issues? Have you tried enzymes? We have some new research: 1 out of 3 Celiacs in a small-scale study had pancreatic insufficiency and improved with enzymes - eventually not even needing the enzymes any more http://www.pharmaceu...ufficiency.html Here's one more: "We conclude that a mild/moderate pancreatic insufficiency is quite frequent in celiacs, but that it may be completely independent of nutritional status"
  15. Did you ever have your Faecal pancreatic elastase-1 tested? I ALSO have the horizontal ridges on my nails - and the same types of pain, but like you - no answers. I think I am going to do a trial with pancreatic enzymes - I have been reading some articles, including one that 1 out of 3 Celiac disease patients could benefit from pancreatic enzyme supplementation. I am finding that if I eat fat - I have digestive issues. Low fat, I have a lot less issues.... Pancreatic problems make sense because if the body is not absorbing nutrients properly all of the things you mentioned can occur due to mineral/vitamin deficiencies.
