  1. Yeah...we've tred to make our own bread too and we must be really bad at it! My son is doing great, but my husband and I are missing garlic bread... I hope that you get better soon. I have seen an incredible difference in my son already. He used to have dark circles under his eyes and they are gone now. His energy level is through the roof too.
  2. You are in no way alone! Hang in there and it will get easier. We are having some tough times too. My son has Celiac and is in the sixth grade. After his Thanksgiving party at school where he couldn't eat anything, I emailed his teacher to please keep me informed about parties so I could send something in for him. The Christmas party came and no email or call from his teacher. He sat in the class as all of his friends ate pizza and hoagies. I was mortified and mad and sad for him, but he handled it like a trooper. He just tore into the banana peppers instead. Thank goodness he was smart and aware enough to explain to his teacher that there were things that he just can't eat!
  3. 12 Year Old Son With Celiac

My 12 year old son was diagnosed with Celiac three months ago. He went to Children's Hospital for the bloodwork, biopsy, and nutritionist. He is very lucky. He doesn't suffer from stomach pain or anything that causes him any discomfort. Although, it is possible that he just doesn't know what it is like to feel healthy. We don't know yet. His biggest symptom is that he is not growing or getting the proper nutrition from his food. Three months ago, he was 53 pounds. now he is almost 10 pounds heavier. As a family, our entire household has decided to eat gluten-free. So far -so good. But, we would love it if someone could recommend a bread - store bought, ordered online, or baked that doesn't make you want to gag. We love the gluten-free desserts...brownies and cakes, but haven't had any luck with any kind of bread.
