  1. Thank you for an awesome reply. I truly appreciate it. I really thought Doritos had Gluten, my sister tried telling me they didn't. Her 4 y/o has celiac and she's letting her eat Doritos. She claims their website states they are gluten-free. I couldn't find it online. Thanks for clearing it up. I know several of the variety' clearly state they contain wheat. Thought I should share this info with all of you: MY ONLY GROCERY STORES are: KROGER, IGA, WALMART SUPERCENTER. Not much variety, ha ha!
  2. Sounds great....Thank you so much!
  3. Fruity Pebbles

Was glad to see this post. Have an unusual quirk to add: I don't have problems with the chocolate pebbles, but just tried the new fruity pebbles, and the new bars. Broke out with DH and mouth sores. Significant abdominal pain. Wondered if I had gotten it from something else. Then I just happened to see this post. What do you all think?
  4. Thank you so much! I wish I could fix my own entree's. It's merely impossible!! I hate having Celiac Disease!!!! Stores in our area have NO CLUE what to stock....what Celiac is, etc. They have rows and rows or organic items, that doesn't help me. Sorry folks, I'm just so frustrated. Tired of eating cottage cheese and fruit to keep from being doubled over in pain. This sucks big time. As one member put it: It's easier not to eat!!! I've lost over 75lbs. I love my new look, don't have to worry about gluten in water, it's gluten-free Now...88 people have viewed this entry, only 2 responded. I'm so disappointed. Please????
  5. It's been a long time since I've posted,. Please forgive me for that. Alot has been happening. I'm in desperate need of some answers....(I should know the answer to)....but I don't. There are alot of very wise people on here, would you PLEASE HELP ME???? Some of my questions may be dumb, but I've got to ask anyway. Thank you in advance for helping me. 1. Do all Frito-Lay Doritos contain Gluten? 2. Do Kellogg's Rice Krispies and their treats have Gluten? 3. Who makes the BEST Gluten-Free BREAD? BAGELS? 4. Where can I order Gluten-free entree's (if anywhere) for less than $6.00 an entree. **I live alone, my grocery budget is small, would rather buy true Gluten-free entree's than try to cook n freeze them.*** Stores in my area carry 3-4 varieties, and prices are $6-$8 per entree. Is there a brand called Pamela's? All I've seen is Amy's. It would mean SO MUCH I'm trying with all my might to keep gluten FREE. All of you are so much wiser at this than I am. Please help me. I will be forever thankful. Also, pizza. In our stores a gluten-free pizza, small one....$12? Is that even reasonable? Thanks so much. ***One more question: I posted on my profile; all my diagnosis', etc. However, it doesn't show up on my postings, etc. I see it on other members posts. Have I done in incorrectly?
  6. Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in a while but I'm sure glad I opened this post to read it. THIS IS MY SITUATION TOO! I've had my thyroid checked numerous times, the doctor keeps saying it's fine. Trying to get a copy of my tests results is like getting blood from a turnip. lol I've had a very low Vit D level for years and take prescription vitamin D, which was just increased. I also have low potassium, low magnesium, increased liver enzymes and of course Celiac disease since 1994, herpatitis dermatitis since '93. I also have the severe migraines like someone else mentioned. It's true....I don't eat right, but I just don't have the appetite. I think that's due to getting very sick in November and staying sick. Didn't get help till January. Found out it was Crohn's causing the problem. I'd already lost 75lbs, but the first medications didn't work so they had to try another. At this point...I can't find anything that tastes good. I hate this gluten-free diet. Everything I love has gluten in it. I'm on such a limited financial budget it makes my life miserable. Anyhow......I know what you ladies are saying about your hair. I'd give anything to have my hair healthy and shiny again. If it keeps falling out I will be bald soon. So if anyone has some advice or tips, please send them my way too. Im so discouraged. Sorry this is so long, just had to respond as I see myself in the other replies. Have a good night all. Take care.
  7. New Rx's for Crohn's are helping, second colonoscopy 12/15/10 shows still severe inflammation.

  8. Thanks so much for all the advice. I truly appreciate it. Will definately find a way to pass the info on.
  9. It's Easier To Just Not Eat

That's so sweet of you to offer! No one else has even commented on my reply. I really, truely appreciate you compastion. Thanks so much.
  10. Gluten Free Pasta

Glad to know you like it also. May I where??????? Do you possibly have a web site for it? Thanks so much.
  11. It's Easier To Just Not Eat

I can hear where you coming from about "I'd rather not eat" thankful you're not in my situation. I've written in several times for advice on what to eat & received some good ideas. As you said, I've ran out of ideas on what to eat. The choices really are limited unless you have alot of money to spend. Even the natural whole cooking costs money. Face it! Therein comes my circumstances. I've just went through a divorce, live alone on a fixed income. I can't afford the food everyone has recommended. As things are, (very difficult), it takes all my money to pay my basic bills. I'm only receiving $36 a month for food! They say I make too much! Didn't know $800 was so much. So.....with $36.....I won't buy the usual cheap food, its all gluten. I get free food from churches but it's usually gluten. So I'd rather not eat! If I do, I will be in misery from the crohn's or the celiac disease. Right? Right! There is a good part! Just had my antibody done. For the first time since 1994.....I'm gluten-free!!!!!! I'm happy! Have lost 60lbs, that's ok with me. Just wish I could keep my blood sugar up. So, be thankful that you can buy food. Don't be so picky. I would eat anything gluten-free......if I could afford to buy it. Have a good one!
  12. Gluten Free Pasta

Where would I find this at? The area I live in doesn't have any gluten-free food shops! Thank you.
  13. Canker Sores

Hello All! I'm so relieved to find this post! I've suffered with Canker sores and "THRUSH" for years. To my dismay, it took years to convince my DH dr. to acknowledge to connection between my celiac disease and the mouth break-outs. Still, they will not treat me for it. Whenever I can get it prescribed, Diflucan clears it up immediately. Here's my question for all of you: Ever heard of a good home rememdy for Thrush?
  14. Thank you so much! I have Celiac Disease myself. Could Hannah (my niece), have got it from me? I also have Crohn's Disease. My feelings about the endoscope are that the doctor only wants to do it because he is a "Gerd" specialist. The blood test he ran was the 2 you named. He stated they were extremely high results. His words were: very abnormal for a child her age. My concern with getting the diagnosis in writing without the endoscope is great, as he has a strange personality. When we took her in, she had been vomiting for 10 days straight.....he did nothing, offered no remedy. She also has had either loose green stool or diarehha. I wasn't impressed with him. Hannah cries daily that her belly hurts. I've tried for a while to get my sister to start her on a gluten-free diet, as Hannah has Asperger's Syndrom. It took the trauma of the ER visit and the doctors visit w/ blood work to get her attention, sad! I'm Hannah's support system right now. Thanks for writing, please keep in touch. Noni
  15. ' Thank you so very much!!!! I appreciate it more than you could know. She will be so happy. Noni
