    Hi nonnarae Have you cut out oats and dairy whilst you are still healing , as they can make you feel awful, just like being glutened as lots of new coeliacs can't really digest them until they have healed more ,

Hello Tokyo , we all want to help you , it's not right that you should be suffering like this , Does this surgeon have an email address ? if we can email him too and ask him to help on your behalf as your suffering so much , he should not be able to just brush this off anymore , Desperate times call for desperate measures , Please let us try and help you , I know we live in different places but we all truly feel for you , X x
  3. Hi Tokyo , I don't doubt for a minute that you are reacting to something and you know your own body best , But you have only been gluten free for around five months is that right ? Just wondering how are you are managing to look after yourself whilst you are feeling so poorly ? what are you eating and drinking ? You have suffered 24.5 years of eating gluten , all those years of gluten damage can take quite a few years or more to heal your body , You have just had an op and a full anaesthetic whilst your poor body is weak and trying to recover from years of gluten damage , No wonder you feel so rough and no wonder your poor body is reacting to lots of things , Your body has been through so much , but it will get better , but you have to take good care of it and allow it lots of time to heal , Lots of us on here who are healing , react to lots of other things , many other foods and intolerance's can develop whilst we are healing , but the good news is that after healing , lots of us manage to get those foods back again , and most of us don't get such bad reactions to other things , once we have healed , Tokyo , You also sound like you may be having typical gluten reactions too , ( the awful anxiety is a classic symptom ) so is sweating and feeling cold , dizziness is another , there are lots of us who get typical reactions through gluten exposure creeping in somewhere or through cross contamination , Even very experienced celiacs can slip up eating something they shouldn't , some of us get awful symptoms with oats , Also lots of us cannot tolerate dairy until our villi have healed , usually it takes a couple of years or more before introducing it again , I know that you are a medical student and you probably know a lot more than I do , but gluten can often cloud our minds to the point that we simply cannot see what's happening to us because we are so fogged up , Those stitches could be causing a reaction , Plus your body could still be very sensitive until it heals a lot more , I have just looked around the internet and a lot of people say they have had reactions to these type of dissolvable stitches too , But first things first , you really need to get stronger and get your strength up so you can think up a plan to get some help with those stitches , We will help and support you on here , many of us on here have not been believed by doctors about our symptoms until we have become very anaemic , skeletal , or very damaged and mal nourished , although in the past "our symptoms" were all that they had to go on , to diagnose celiac disease, I sometimes think going by the symptoms was a better way to diagnose celiac disease , you will need some good food to help your body to heal and your mind to cope , Perhaps you can plan to do an online shop , and get some good food delivered , frozen fish is good, just rinse off the water glaze first , pop them in oven bags or foil in a hot oven for twenty mins or so until until juice is absorbed , I do hope that made sense , Please would you go through what you have been eating and drinking on here with us , as it could be something like cross contamination issues , Also , whilst you are getting better , (and you will get better ! ) just eat plain whole foods what God put on the earth in its purest forms , fresh meat , fresh fish, fresh veggies , fresh fruits, just have some plain Jacket potatoes microwaved Eat them with the fish for now, they are nice and easy , or boil up some fresh bone broth this is very good for healing the digestive system and for the time being stay away from gluten free factory foods and grain foods , Just until you heal more and start to feel a bit better , don't eat dairy or oats either , drink lots of plain fresh water for now Hope that made sense Ps , proffesor Hadjvassilou helps with neurological problems caused by gluten , he is in the NHS Sheffield hospital , you would need a doctors referal note
  4. Hi Firstimemama2014 , Nope I couldn't bring myself to watch the video , yes fran it does look rather shocking , I am hoping I don't accidentally press the play button , it looks way too graphic for me , But just looking at the the photo , it does look like a rather extreme case Jiggles x
  5. Hi Firsttimemama2014 , If they are present , you may be able to see them for yourself in a bright light , also good luck for Tuesday you are very brave to have an endoscopy without any sedation, especially with you being pretty scared may I ask why your not getting sedation

Hi Firsttimemama2014 , I understand you don't have bad breath , but because this only happens when you exhale with your mouth closed , (no matter where the odour is coming from ) it seems your breath is carrying it up to your nose , so if were tonsil stones you wouldn't have to worry about looking any deeper , also they can be caused by antibiotics leaving behind small particles of trapped bacteria in the throat , sorry for not being clear x

Hi , Ftmama , it could be common tonsil stones , it seems to fit what you are describing , perhaps google tonsil stones and see if that could be the problem , because sometimes they can hide in the crypts inside the tonsils , you can buy something to flush them out leaving your breath smelling fresh again

Hi spirit-walk , IrishHeart is right you must Eat , and not just rice , eat everything you can tolerate ( gluten free of course ) When we are trying to gain back our health and strength "Eating" is our number one priority Unless something you are eating is upsetting your digestive system and is making you sick , then elimination diets should be left until we feel stronger and have gained back some body weight , and as IrishHeart says it can be different things for everyone , for me it's been two years I am getting stronger but feel that I still have more healing to do I have also gained a little bit of weight now but it took over a year to gain just a couple of pounds , and I still eat loads of fruit and veggies , I only eliminated those which I felt were the most offending ones , which for me were , mangoes , pineapple and strawberries , the veggies weren't so bad , I only cut out soya beans , but I will keep trying them over time , as these things can change like lots of others on here I added an extra slice of meat at each meal which works well , you will get there , it just takes time for all of us x x

Hello spirit-walk , just wanted to say that I too had an issue with popping joints too , and also terrible muscle stiffness , I found through a process of elimination that too much fruit and vegetables were the problem for me , thanks to IrishHeart histamine foods list , It dawned on me that it was histamine related , and maybe oxalate related too, I don't know for sure , but once I removed fruit and veg the joint pain, popping and muscle stiffness all started to subside , I was slow to connect the two as the popping pain and stiffness built up very slowly , and fruit and veg was the very last thing I thought of , I am adding back a few veggies and a few fruits now to find my tolerance level , hope that made sense Here is a link I found that may help too

Hi AnnaChristine , I hope you don't mind me suggesting something , to help you find out what's bothering you , You need to stop all those supplements , Keep it simple Start again using good whole foods to heal , boiled white rice, fish, meat veggies fruits ,a little gluten-free bread too if it agrees , Then get all your vitamin and mineral levels tested properly by a celiac Doctor before you take anything else Hope you don't mind my saying Jiggles x x

Hi, it's great news that your doctor is sending you to the Celiac centre , it's really good to feel there is more help out there , there is a very good post on here about starting to feel better , sorry I can't remember who the OP was .... It starts with waking up one day feeling ok, and you notice that you have had a good day , then you hope you will have another good day , and one day it dawns on you that you have had two or more good days in a row , and you suddenly realise that you are having more good days than bad and eventually the good days will out number the bad days , and you will get better too AnnaChristine and as you get better the anxiety that accompanies this illness will go away allowing your confidence to grow back and you will feel like your old self again , I found it so scary when I didn't know my own body anymore or how to help fix it, I felt broken , I too had those new food intolerances that can show up soon after starting the gluten free diet, I found these hard going , as they can produce similar symptoms to gluten , but once you recognise the offending foods and gain control by cutting those foods out until you heal , it starts to get better , and after two years of healing I am finding I can now tolerate most of those foods again , and a few more factory produced treats too , We are so lucky to have lots of lovely people on this site to help us through all of this , and to help us to stay well too , I found this board a God send , I am so grateful for it , I don't know what I would have done without it , so thank you all once again x x AnnaChristine , Please let us know how you are doing, and how you get on at the Celiac centre , Sending you big hugs Jiggles x x

Hi , You could try going grain free and just stick to "whole foods " meats veggies and fruits ect , This can help us to heal faster and feel better again , I had to avoid all dairy at first too, Then at a later date you could try adding in some factory made gluten free foods and baked goods to see how well you tolerate them , Some people can tolerate factory made gluten free foods no problem at all, whilst others may need to seek out what suits them best , I prefer to use factory made gluten free foods as treats , I do eat rice and bread though but I am still healing and think I feel better if I stick to mainly whole foods , Hope you feel better soon x x

I would cut out ALL factory produced foods , and that includes the flours you are using , Just stick to "whole foods " of one ingredient , which I see you are doing already , but your nut flours are factory produced , and dilitantesteph is right about low levels of gluten being present in factory produced flour , as they are allowed 20 parts per million which is still classed as Gluten free , and in the beginning some of us can be sensitive to these low factory levels of gluten until we have healed a bit more , a lot of us on here have felt so sick and poorly just like you in the beginning , me included and we know It's not nice to feel so sick it's only by trial that we discover our own " safe foods " which may be different for each of us , for me it is sweet potatoes , steamed cod , and lots of water , In the beginning when our systems rumble and bloat to let us know we have eaten something too harsh, or too hard to digest , we then go back to our " safe foods" and remain on them until we feel better and whilst eating ONLY our "safe foods" we introduce those other foods one by one, until we find the food which offended our systems then over time when more healing has taken place many of us can look forward to getting back most of those offending foods that were far too harsh for us in the beginning , for me those offending foods were .... eggs which gave terrible gas pain and bloating , any type of nuts, any type of flours, Dairy , certain fruits , certain veggies , hot spices and peppers, certain vinegars , I hardly ever drink , but any type of alcohol or wine was out in the beginning too, plus a few more things I may have forgotten , so you can see it's a process of elimination for a lot of us , Hope that helped, and I hope that made sense , Hope you find your safe foods soon and start to feel better too Jiggles x x

Hello AnnaChristine, sorry to hear you are still feeling poorly, I use enzymedica Digest , I notice you are already eating nuts and nuts can be very hard to digest at the best of times, I found nuts gave me terribly bad indigestion and bloating and all the symptoms you mention, so I cut them out completely, I do hope to re introduce them at a later date though , I have also read that its far better to soak nuts and allow them to sprout a little first as this aids digestion , see link below In the UK it is quite hard to find nuts that are free from cross contamination due to shared facility's I am not too sure about the USA though , buying nuts in the shell will have less chance of c/c Hmm, thinking perhaps all those other supplements may be a bit too much for you just yet , Perhaps you could try starting over with just your meat and veggies , then introduce some good digestive enzymes, then probiotics , keeping notes of how you feel , also when you buy any meat in a butchers or a deli counter , do be extra careful as marinades and ham crumbs can easily be transferred onto other cuts of meats , I do hope you will soon be feeling better, Jiggles x x

Hi again , when I couldn't get up from the sofa , I drank the broth from the chicken , please ask someone to boil up a chicken for you so you can at least drink the broth , also your dietician can they prescribe food drinks for you whilst you cannot eat , I had some prescribed and they did help , plenty of water and the chicken broth will help until your doctors find out what the problem is for you x x jiggles
