  1. [CI have the same problem with spots that won't tan. I would also like to know if this is related to celiac sprue. I have been diagnosed for about 10 months now and have been gluten-free for that long. Also I occasionaly have a fine rash in my mouth (no itch) . Also wonder if this related to accidental gluten from contamination. Thanks MOM OLOR=orange]
  2. When it comes to cereals off the shelf(in regular grocery stores) I stay away! It has to say gluten-free before I trust the contents. Beware of contamination when it comes to the grains in cereals. Mom
  3. Iwill do mine by e-mail also. Snail mail can also be "slow" to be read out of the snail "pile" As long as we all can send in the letters to get the message across--a variety of e-mail and snail mail(massive writing) will be great. Mom
  4. Hey all! I will do eveything that I can to promote the letter writing. I started last nite with a note to the Opra show. Hope that that was ok with everyone. I was excited to write it and I will definitely keep going with this project. I am willing to help any way that I can. Mom
  5. Thank you all for the info and helpful comments on this subject. I will move on to the infusion next week, feeling more secure than I would have. Mom
  6. It can take many months and even years to have normal blood results. My GI doctor has told me that with a lot of damage, normal blood resuts for iron can take a very long time to regain in the normal range. Also for other blood resuts , the same is true. It will be different for different peole, depending on the situation at hand. The main thing is to br consistant with, eating gluten-free and taking care of ones health. Mom
  7. Kathy c Thank you for replying back about the infusions. How do they infuse the iron? Is it through the arm? Could you give me the details? I would appreciate it. Mom
  8. Just wondering if anyone out there has had any iron infusions? I have to do this for severe anemia. My 1st experience will be this month to be infused. My daamage is so severe that my iron is slow to enter
  9. just wanted to let you know that my celiac disease was triggered in much the same way. I was traveling on my job about every 10 days and then, I also contracted a bug and at the same time my Dad was dying. So , I can identify with you. I am also glad that I found out that I was celiac disease so that I no longer eat gluten. I have been eating gluten-free for 6 months and can really tell the difference, even though I am still very anemic. Again, welcome! Mom
  10. Well said Ianm I have to agree with you. My point exactly. We can't have whole grains. Mom
  11. Kaiti I agree! I would have been hospitalized without some supplements. I have to have iron infused this month. One must do the healthest thing possible when it comes to what is ailing you. It can months into years to heal, depending on the damage, so i will take my chances with supplements and all the gluten-free foods that are are good for you. Mom
  12. coin-op I am not sure what you mean by a waste of time. You evidenally aren't anemic. Intestinal damage creates a situation to be anemic etc. Whole grains are not on the list for the celiac as far as wheat etc. I take many supplements and eat all the best nutrition that I can (meaning fresh fruits, vegetables, browm rice etc.) I would imagine that this is a waste of time to take any supplement that is necessary for added energy, healing and especially for the immune system. Mom
  13. Trying for Faith--Hello Hi My GI doctor is in Knoxville, Tn. He is wonderful. Let me know iif you close by. Any info that I can give you--let me know. Mom
