Before diagnosis yes. After diagnosis and being gluten free no. Hope this helps!

Seratonins is often associated with depression, fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Here is a web site describing some of the symptoms associated with low seratonin. Have you been under a great deal of stress lately? This can cause levels to drop. Here is the link I found. Good luck with everything!

I know when I was first diagnosed it seemed I was sensitive to EVERYTHING! Have you tried cutting out caffeine, fatty foods, processed foods as well as dairy? After a year I can now do processed and dairy as long as I don't over do, but fatty and caffeine will still aggravate my very sensitive (and obnoxious) stomach. Early on natural foods seemed safest, and cooked veggies and fruits were better tolerated than raw.

      Good luck!

Have you seen a dr lately? My Dad can't eat many of those things due to diverticulitis.....might be worth getting a check up to rule it out. Good luck!

So sorry to hear how poorly you are feeling. Can definitely sympathize with you as I have lupus, and went through a lot of the same things you are. I also suggested a gluten intolerance to the dr and was pooh poohed by the MD, however started gluten free anyway and it made a HUGE difference in how I felt. Then accidentally got glutened and developed DH rash which was tested and so ended up with the Celiac diagnosis through the back door so to speak. IF your testing comes back negative I would recommend trying gluten free it shouldn't hurt anything but might make a huge difference for you. I know it did for me. I honestly never thought I would feel this good again.

Good luck. Hang in there and post here if you need support

Cheetos? Reacting From? Anyone Else Have Problems
Hi- I am having a massive DH breakout and the only thing I can think it would be from is Cheetos...everything else I have eaten today is either fruit, vegetable or gluten free bread....does anyone else have problems with these? I don't see anything on label or online that would indicate gluten in the ingredients...What am I missing?

    7. Teri Lou added a post in a topic Another Request To Help With Test Results

I wonder if you could have lymphocytic colitis? Since the lymphocytes are high. I had that initially and was told to avoid fatty foods, dairy and caffeine and it helped for a while....but then I progressed into Celiac (My understanding is lymphocytic colitis is sometimes almost like a precurser type of thing for celiac) So maybe you have something like this going on too (keep in mind I am just guessing and not a medical professional)

    8. Teri Lou added a post in a topic Another Confusing Discrepancy Between Blood Tests And Biopsy Results

At this point it probably wouldn't hurt to try gluten free just to see if made a difference...also what meds are they treating your RA with....I have lupus and know some I totally can't tolerate cause they cause so much GI inflammation I get symptoms like yours..have you had any recent med changes? or are the ones you are on known to cause GI irritation? Autoimmune stuff is AWFUL to figure out sometimes so I would attack it from all angles. Talk to your rheumatologist about your symptoms as well as the GI people (but don't adjust meds yourself!!). How are your blood markers besides the IgA?

Good luck- I hope they figure it out and you are feeling better soon!

    9. Teri Lou added a post in a topic Heat Rash

I have lupus and get that sort of a heat rash when exposed to the sun. Have you noticed any sort of photosensitivity? I would recommend getting tested for both lupus and Celiacs, and possibly other autoimmune diseases as in my own experience there is a lot of overlap. Good luck! Rashes like that are so not fun!

    11. Teri Lou added a post in a topic Could This Be Celiac & Testing Question

With regular fevers that high I would see a specialist. Some of the symptoms sound like Celiac but I haven't heard of high fevers with it? Does anyone else have comments about fevers with gluten intolerance/ celiac?

Good luck and hope they figure it out soon for you so she can feel better!

I'm addicted to Fish Tacos lately- the easy way to do it is to marinate tilapia with fajita seasoning mix (gluten-free) and a little olive oil and then bake it. Throw it in a tortilla with some shredded lettuce, cheese, and mango/ mandarin orange salsa....YUMMY! Recipe is on I think

I have had buckwheat and rice based pasta which were both pretty good, although it seems weird to think the buckWHEAT pasta was gluten free but it was took me several weeks to feel better after starting gluten-free diet...good luck!
