  1. I saw on a post, you're from Middle Tennessee. I'm from West Tennessee, college freshman. I moved down here from PA, where celiac is actually pretty common. It seems like nobody has it down south..and that everything eaten is deep fried! Can you help me out? :)

  2. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  3. The best chocolate I've ever had is Kinder from Germany.
  4. I'll be a freshman in the fall and I was blessed enough to get a full-ride scholarship to a private university. I can live on campus for free and be exempt from the meal plan because of celiac disease. The university is in my hometown, just 5 or so miles from my house. I'm leaning towards living at home, but, I'd like to hear opinions & experiences from other people. The only concerns I have is there's one bathroom per hall and rooming with a non-celiac (unless I can scout for a gluten-free roomie...) All my friends are saying living on campus for that "college experience" but, I'm not so convinced. I plan on joining SGA and pledging with Alpha Sigma Tau to get involved around campus. Any thoughts would be appreciated :] -Ash
  5. Hi, I was wondering if some of you ladies could give some insight. I've missed two my periods and the last period I had was in mid-November. It concerns me, considering my periods are extremely painful w/ heavy bleeding, lasting always 7+ days then suddenly there's nothing. For the past month and a half, I've experienced severe lower right abdomen pain and severe pelvic pain, that sometimes goes into the small of my back. Could this possibly be an ovarian cyst? There's no chance of pregnancy, as I've never been sexually active. I've also gained 20 lbs and had a bladder infection. I just went in Friday for blood work and an X-ray. Any thoughts would be appreciated :] -Ash.
  6. Blood Type

AB+, long dark brown hair, blue eyes, Italian/Irish decent.
  7. Bahaha :] I feel the same way...then again, we're not use to snow here in TN. I love the snow because it rarely snows here expect on the plateau. It was a senior year miracle! We got snow days lol right before exams, too. Big stress relief.
  8. Hi! Welcome Ms. Skinny Chic :] I dealt with malabsorption from my diganosis date until after being gluten for a year and half. I really can't suggest anything but reinforce what everyone else has said. It's very difficult and takes time & patience to deal with. Hope the board proves useful. Let me know if you need anything else. Take care, -Ash.
  9. Hello Peter! Ha, guess I'm gonna have to ask Santa for some industrial-sized Head & Shoulders for Christmas to take care of that 'dandruff' Oh my goodness, I wouldn't know what do if I lived in Canada! I'm so afraid of driving in the snow. everyone here acts as if it were dandruff failing from the sky lol
  10. Hello Tom! thank you, Picasso's amazing. no school tomorrow, spelling rules do not applyyyyy!!!
  11. Patti! :] -hugs- ...I'm actually very guilty of using my voice when sneezing...sound like a very loud HI! sometimes when I sneeze lol
  12. Hi everyone!!! We just had our first snow of the season here in middle TN, it rarely ever snows like this, especially in my county! my edumatication has been cancelled tommorrow :]
  13. I've also developed an apperciation for tofu, if prepared correctly. It's so yummy in Amy's Santa Fe Bowls...
  14. Coming from a large Italian family, I would eat gluten in a heartbeat, if I could...
