  1. About to go eat some gluten-free food! :)

  2. Friend Doesn't Get It

Wow I never thought about that. Thanks for all the support and advice! It really helped me
  3. Friend Doesn't Get It

Omg I love you haha! And yes i'm a teenager and no she hasn't done it in front of her mom... Yet.. Maybe if i get her to then shell get in trouble. I just want a friend who is going through the same thing as me and actually understands me. Thanks or the advice and I don't think I'll need to make up the two names.
  4. Friend Doesn't Get It

Hahahaha that actually made me smile
  5. Friend Doesn't Get It

thanks. And she's ok at times but I kinda have to keep seeing her cus our moms are realllllly close so if I say I don't want to be her friend then it'd be awkward for a while cus we see eachother a lot. Know what I mean? So idk what to do
  6. My friend said that she's making kuskus (this rice stuff that has gluten in it) for dinner and she's going to make me eat it. And I was like no I'm not! I can't have it! And she knows I can't. And she said too bad I'm making u eat it and I said no I'm not eating it! She said that it won't mater if I have a little bit but it does. After having one bite of gluten I get the symptoms for two days!! And she said "then what are you going to eat?" and I said idk.. I'll eat a gluten free sandwhich or something. and she's like whatever I'm making it. What should I do? She doesn't get it!!! And there's no way I'm eating it! Ugghh! And she always rubs it in my face that I can't have gluten. And I say it's not that big of a deal and she says "yes it's a huge deal. Gluten is in everything." and she says that gluten free food isn't real food. She's really annoying me right now..
  7. Annoying Friends!

wow. people are so rude. but trust me, i know how you feel when u said that they thought it was in ur mind and wasn't real. that how my family is to me.. my sister told me that nothing would happen to me if i have ONE bite of rice but i didn't want to eat it. she told me to not be rude (because i was at someone's house at the time) and to just eat it so it wouldn't be a hassle for them. so i took only ONE SMALL bite and i regret ever listening to her. after an hour my joints were hurting (thats the main symptom that i get) and i told my sister and she said that thats not possible for it to hurt that fast cus it hasn't digested yet..but i knew that i was right and didn't want to fight and just pretended to agree.. and she said i probably ate something the day before by accident.. and my mom didn't believe in the whole gluten thing ruining my body on the inside. shes just starting to actually believe that gluten ruins my body...kind of...and my siblings say that (when i eat gluten by accident and my joints begin to hurt) its all in my head. they don't believe it cus they cant SEE it! and i hate that they don't believe me most of the time!! so i feel ur pain. btw if the people who were rude to you are ur "friends" then i think u need to meet some new ones.. like ME! haha jk. anyway, how old are you? im 13
  8. im 13 and was diagnosed with Celiac 2, almost 3 weeks ago. does someone have celiac all of their life or can they develop it? cus if u develop it, i probably did 3 years ago. when i have gluten i have joint pain. also i have to take 5,000 iu vitamin D pills a day. does that mean my vitamin is REALLY low? or is that a normal amount to take? ive noticed that when i have gluten i get moody what happens to you when you've been glutenized? lol. how did u find out that u had celiac? do u know anyone around ur age with it? i don't i and really wish i did cus thatd be so fun to talk about with each other.
  9. Vitamins For Celiacs

thanks for the help, but i ended up getting different types of pills that my doctor recommended. i have to take 5,000 iu! isn't that crazy? and do you know if that means that my Vitamin D is really low/bad?
  10. thanks for your support! do you know if any pizza places sell gluten free pizza?
  11. hey im 13 and i don't know anyone around my age that has it. i have been diagnosed for 2, almost 3 weeks now.
  12. Vitamins For Celiacs

  13. thanks for the info! it really helped. and do i NEED to be that careful about it? not trying to be rude, im just asking. because im not sure if im that sensitive to it. i haven't had anything that has gluten touch my gluten-free food. how do i know if im that sensitive?
  14. wow. 30-40 years?? the symptoms began 2 years ago for me. i guess i am pretty lucky, but never really realized it. do you know if someone is born with it? or can they develop it? because id be surprised if i were born with it.
