I cannot advise strongly enough to avoid working from home as much as possible. I have worked from home for close to 15 years, due to the nature of the job. You will find that your going out anxiety will increase the longer you work from home. You will also see "regular" anxiety increase as well as you lose social connections. I have known many who ended up becoming agoraphobic over time while working from home. Twice during the 15 years I have worked from the office for an extended amount of time (4 months and then a year and a half) and after a couple week adjustment, the anxiety almost fell away. I was a new man. I thrived. I did have to push in the beginning though.
I do think that we overthink things. While I think it is possible that soaps, perfumes, and errant crumbs could hit a person, I think it is much more likely to be that subconscious anxiety. I can be perfectly fine all week and you mention going out to eat, me coming over, or a possible date and whammo I have a "celiac reaction." I would be a lot of others are like that or were before they were able to wrap their head around things and get 100% compliant for a lengthy amount of time.
Right now you are new to the disease. Less than 6 months if my math is right. You are probably still healing and learning what your triggers are. The worst thing I ever did was get into the overthinking it phase which I bet many due at the beginning. Most likely you are discovering other food categories that bother you or maybe you have not narrowed those down yet. When the gut is off, anxiety is up. They will feed off of each other to where you will not know what is the primary cause. You may find relief from a therapist and possibly with medication, although therapy can work wonders fast.

Do not discount the possibility that you could have developed anxiety issues. Many of us stop going out to eat because over time we subconsciously associated this with getting sick. Some get the same feeling just going to work. Celiac can fuel anxiety and that feeling can lead to many of the Celiac symptoms. It can be difficult to determine if you are having a true Celiac issue or an anxiety one.
I work from home as well and over time you can find yourself being home bound. If you do not get out as often as possible this can make it much worse. Someone will invite you over or you need to go to a work function and you get that instant gut twinge of anxiety.

We really overthink this issue a lot. I could care less what others eat and I am sure they feel the same about what I eat.

I have never had "No thank you" lead to anything or bring more questions. Share with who you want, no thank you the rest.

I went vegetarian for 3 months and then vegan for three. Gained 30 pounds even though I ate what I was supposed to. Was always so hungry. Had a hard time getting the protein and all that vegetable matter killed my GI even with digestive enzymes. Funny how we are all so different.

My body loves low carb. I am hypoglycemic. Eliminating caffeine is a big help as well since it does mess with blood sugar. The more stable you keep it, the better. I have noticed that it is a lot easier to crash it especially in the beginning of your body adjusting to it and caffeine is the biggest cause for me.
I do paleo and love it. I aim for 25-30 grams carbs.

one of the publix stores here has a special shelf tag for all the gluten free items. They are in their regular slots which makes shopping much easier.

Well, one of the stores I go to has a dedicated gluten free area and they on that shelf lots of gluten free options...and also vital wheat gluten. It even had a nice label on the shelf which meant it was not put there as a joke or a customer discard. I went from "this store is caring for separating some items out" to "what a bunch of idiots"

Marks Daily Apple is considered one of the bigger "groups" although Loren Cordain has a different approach and a lot more information. I read Sissom's books and found them light on details, but I know many who follow him happily.

Interesting topic for sure. i do think people should experiment with the no dairy, no grains to see if they feel improvements. It is interesting what things might change. I went caffeine free from only one cup a day and amazingly cleared my allergies mostly, neck pain, and had huge improvements in insomnia. Knocked out dairy and no more allergies. It was a woah moment.
The big take away is we have to be our own advocate and essentially experiment on ourselves to see what works and what does not. For many of us we only were diagnosed as Celiac because we figured it out and then the doctors had their aha moment. That was my case for over 15 years.

I do find it puzzling how we can self-sabotage so easy even after seeing and experiencing the positives and not missing the things you no longer eat.

I knew that title would get this read. lol.
I went a year gluten-free and felt so much better and then over the last two months blew it. I figured the best way to get back on track was to shame myself online.
I recently started Paleo because I am also allergic to dairy, which I have been eating as well.
It is so weird how your head is on right for a period of time, you see the results, and then something flips and you go stupid...or maybe I am the only one who does that.

    13. Chad Sines added a post in a topic How Did I Get Glutened?

One thing that took me a while to "get" was that all GI issues are not a result of gluten. Our digestive systems are all wonked so it is easy to mess them up. It is very hard to tell if it is a glutening, a cross contamination issue, or just a result of a busted up gut. Both hot dogs and chili are items that are very hard on my stomach. I am recovering today from a definite gluten-free chili I ate yesterday.

This turned out to be either a food bug or an initial bad reaction. It did calm down quickly. Now taking the Lipo Gold along with it. An initial Zantac twice a day helped for 2 days.

      Gluten In Enzymedica Digest
I had issues with Digest Gold being "too strong" with some upset stomach and such. After a long time off of it, I decided to try Digest (not the gold) since it is weaker. I took it last night at supper, once for breakfast and then lunch. I was nauseous all day from waking up. Does anyone know if the regular Digest has gluten or other concerning issues? It is weird that it hit me harder and different than the other strong version.
