  1. I understand. I really hate them, too. My body did NOT like them. I really don't know anything about eczema, except it IS an autoimmune disease. Here's a link about eczema and celiac http://celiacdisease.about.com/od/commoncomplicationsofcd/a/Can-Eating-Gluten-Free-Help-With-Your-Eczema-Treatment.htm Just out of curiosity, you may try this cream. http...
  2. But what happens if you STOP the seaweed and other high iodine foods? That's the big question, since you're eating so much. I wished many times for Dr. House. If they didn't specifically look for iga pattern dh they wouldn't see it. You'd have to ask the lab if the correct biopsy/solution was used and if it was looked at (dh is a visual dx of stained...
  3. There are other autoimmune skin rashes that are bilateral. I don't know if that's good or bad news. I've always said not to judge a rash for dh based on appearance, but by reaction. Do you react to iodine rich foods like egg yolks, asparagus, seaweed? If you react (rash flares) that's an indicator of dh. Have you read about differential diagnoses for...
  4. Have you seen pics of plaque psoriasis? Do you think your lesions look like that?
  5. I'm sorry, that looks so uncomfortable. That reminds me of plaque psoriasis. Did you have the plaque when you went to the doctor?
  6. I took and still take them. But c due to gluten and thyroid disease can not be I cured by probiotics alone. If it could, I would have done it years ago. My son has c. Probiotics don't fix him either. His gluten-free trial is coming....
  7. Tj's has cupcakes? Pizza? I think I'm slow...I only just now found the waffles.
  8. D before your period is caused by prostaglandins. If it starts up, take an Imodium. It works.
  9. Antihistamines also suppress the immune system - so if you are having autoimmune symptoms it could relieve some of them. Last winter I was glutened one two many times and went into a tailspin, plus juniper/cedar season...and after taking antihistimes for a few days I could feel the difference. I had to continue very low doses (half adult dose every other...
  10. Some days bars like Kind+ are just too sweet for me. And too sweet upsets my stomach. That's just me, though. And then it's virus season....so hopefully it was just the bar and coffee...
  11. I'm just glad they're going to start testing. Maybe I can eat some of their chocolate nut products again (since they're made in mixed lines).
  12. I find my pan needs to be just a bit HOTTER for gluten-free pancakes. Took me a while to figure it out. It makes them rise better and gives that crispy crust.
  13. I was, by no means, as C as everyone posting above but I can say that every time I pick up an exercise routine my c clears up. I started working out 4 weeks ago - and my "better" bm's became even more regular. So, that at least is consistent pre and post gluten-free. Also, sugar gives me C. It's painfully (hah!) obvious now that my diet has changed...
  14. Yes - the heat is a month early. Supposed to be in the low 90's/80's by the end of the week. But it gets down in the 60's at night (at least right now) - so the mornings are very cool, as well as beautiful evenings.
  15. Hot dogs and potato salad (mashed potatoes for the kid), and fruit salad. If I would have thought this out I could have cooked the dogs on the sidewalk since it got up to 101 today!!!
  16. Too bad she didn't tell you that a loooonnng time ago. I wish my mother's dentist would be so smart...and tell her to get her butt tested.
  17. Anyway...HAVE A GREAT DAY!

    COUGIE ;)

  19. I haven't found a good Saltine sub. Tried Schar - they look like Saltines but taste more like Ritz.
  20. Well, if going back on gluten isn't possible (meaning you've noticed a difference in your body you attribute to gluten-free) you need to look into the posts in the DH section about salicylates and iodine. If your rash is DH, and it isn't receding gluten-free, then you probably have a secondary issue - perhaps one of those two. Yes, you must be eating gluten...
  21. Well, it's hot as heck - 100. Supposed to get up to 106 over the next few days. Making chilaquiles tonight - may just drink smoothies or gazpacho the next few days. And it's fizzy fruit drink time - little but of fruit juice and a bunch of sparkling water....drink drink drink. Hot!!
  22. Could and would are two different things. Most DH Celiacs are asymptomatic except for the lovely rash. There is a link between t1 diabetes and Celiac. Are either of them on insulin? There's a chance they are t1 (or autoimmune) if they are. Also, you must be eating gluten for 2-3 months prior to testing. Also, have they given you steroids for the rash...
  23. This may be helpful: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/11834848/?i=6&from=dermatitis%20herpetiformis%20japan
  24. Most of the research I've seen is in Japan....where they got majorly "wheated" after WWII when they began importing wheat from the U. S. under some agreement.... Anyhow, the train of thought isn't that it isn't there (and that it's so new) but that they aren't testing for it with the right tests, and it's thought to be a Western disease. There is archaeological...
