  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Paula, I know what you are going through. I have 3 kids and all but one have celiac and my husband and I do too. My kids found out when they were in high school and now the youngest is 21. I have been told by my doctor not to worry about the kids right now. You CAN"T make them stick to this diet and when they get really sick then they will see that they have to follow it. I have tried to make my kids stick to it and it WILL drive you crazy. He is at that wonderful age too. SO stop driving yourself crazy and just let him make himself sick. It is so hard. As long as you are on him about the diet he WILL go to friends houses and buy stuff himself. You won't win. Who else is celiac in your house? Good luck. Karen
  3. Elyse, I have 3 kids also and they all have celiac. My husband was first diagnosed with it then as I read on it I saw that the kids were having symptoms. They are all colleg kids and having a hard time dealing with the diet. I found out I have it too. SO I think the whole world has it and just hasn't been dianosed. I say you need to cut out all gluten Karne
  4. Diabeties And Celiac

I have celiac disease and I am a diabetic. I am tired of trying figure out what to eat and what to feed everyone. Does anyone else out there have diabeties? If so, how do you deal with it and what do you do?
  5. Hello everyone, I am just wondering if anyone else has diabeties along with Celiac and how are you coping with this. I am very fustrated and tring to figure all this out. Sometimes I just want to give up on all diets. I am also very over weight so I was also trying to do Weight Watchers before I found out I had celiac disease. Let me know if you are a diabetic. Maybe we could help each other. I live in Atlanta.
  6. Dr/diatician In Atlanta Area

Thanks for the name. I will give her all call. My GI dr isn't any help. Karen
  7. Dermatitis Herpetiformis

My daughter is 18 and she was told she had vaginal herpes. She had blood tests and they came back that is wasn't herpes. It may have been the cold sore type. I wonder is this was DH. She was diagnosed with Celiac disease 2 years ago. she ahd the biopsy and it was really positive. Man these dr. need to get with the program. She was really up set and we couldn't umderstand how she could have got this. Do you think it could be DH. DOWN THERE. She hasn't had anymore problems. She did take the herpes med and it cleared up. It is so weird. IT was really awful for her too. this is really interesting. Can you have DH as well as the intestinal part too?
  8. VAGUy, I buy a pizza crust at the Peachtree Natural Foods here in Georgia. IT comes in a big box with 2 crusts in the box. I then take it to Little Ceasars and they cook it in their pizza oven for me. I ask them to please wash the pan first for contamination reasons. They are very good with this and the pizza is WONDERFUL. My husband loves it. THey put what topping I ask for. They only charge me for the topping. Good luck. Also, I emailed you because I got a message that you sent me one on the board but I can't locate it. What forum is it in. THanks Karen
  9. The amnio acids is a great replacements for soy sauce.
  10. Gf Sausage?

Hormel told me that most of their products are gluten free and if not it will say on the product that it has wheat in it . I would trust Hormel
  11. Alexa, I do know that all the modified food starch made from corn are safe. You hve to call and ask the company what the source is. They will tell you. Hormel told me that most of their MFS is from corn. If it isn't it will be labeled as such. I know that MFS is in almost everything. I also go to a health food store here in Atlanta and it has A LOT of foods like bread (good bread), Hamburger buns, hot dog buns, rolls, bagels, donuts (good ones). It is called Kinniknik( not sure if the spelling if right). I also get a pizza crust and take it to the local pizza place and they cook it for me and it turns out really really good. They wash the pans before they use them. I haven't had a problem with this.
  12. Dr/diatician In Atlanta Area

Thank you for that information. It at least give me something to look for. I can always call around to alot of GI doctors to find out or I will look on the site myself. Thank you so much. Not sure I can afford it either right now, but I will check it out. Thanks again. Are you a new Celiac ?
  13. Hey guys you are not alone...why down here in Atlanta there is me and I am 150 lbs over weight. I am also diabetic and have been trying to lose weight on weight watchers for 2 yrs now. I lose 25 then start to gain. It is awful. I just found out I was a celiac 2 months ago so I had to add that to my plate. I am so confused on what to do and how to do it. My entire family it celiac also. 3 kids( 18,19 & 21yrs) and my husband. They were dx 2- 3 yrs ago. This really sucks. I guess I am feeling sorry for myself. Karen
