OH MY GOSH!! I used to use certain makeups that would make my face itch and turn bright red and I just wanted it off asap! I wonder if it could have been something with the gluten...however, now I wear numerous different kinds. So is most foundation contain gluten?

      Confused About Gluten Free Products..
I am newly gluten free. I understand I cannot eat anything with gluten and have been doing okay with all of that but I am confused about topical gluten, if that even makes sense ha. I have heard two things, you cannot have any makeup made with gluten touch your lips. I have also heard you cannot use anything with gluten on your body period. I do get the DH rash, but I have never found it came from a certain product, so I assume it was the food I was eating. Could some explain this to me please

I am 7 weeks, have been gluten free for a month, and lost 6 lbs. I think it partially has to do with food aversions and the nausea but I haven't weighed this little in years :/

Sooo Thirsty, Frequent Urination, Celiac Related?
I am 7 weeks pregnant, and went gluten free a little over a month ago due to positive celiac blood panel (Couldn't do the endoscopy due to pregnancy). I have been a little more "regular" but so far no other changes. However, the last two weeks (every day seems worse) I have been so ridiculously thirsty and urinating as soon as I drink something. I'll drink a glass of water then have to use the restroom about 10 min later, it's like my body isn't retaining ANY of it. I have also lost 6 lbs. I am worried the baby isn't getting any nutrients, I will be calling my GI tomorrow but anyone have this happen or know what could be going on?

      Best Pot Roast Recipes?
I am brand new to celiacs and looking for a good pot roast recipe for the crock pot! I just saw the post on here about lipton onion mix not being gluten free which totally bums me out because that is what I typically use! And beer..but I know that is out now. I am looking for recipes! The grocery stores here carry some gluten free specialty items but not too many. Thanks!

New To Celiac, Now Pregnant. Overwhelmed!
As some of you may know, I found out that I had celiac disease about a month ago. I had a positive tTg test which was followed by a positive celiac panel (I don't know the specific test names). Funny thing is I had a upper endoscopy scheduled for last friday, I had to cancel last min due to scheduling conflicts. This stressed me out because I wanted to start the gluten free diet but the Dr wanted a formal diagnosis. I rescheduled for this coming friday, but found out yesterday that I was pregnant. I also just found out a few months ago that I have antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. Now I am panicking because I will now be switching to a gluten free diet and dealing with the first months of pregnancy at the same time. I also have a almost 3 year old and almost 1 year old son. I feel overwhelmed and scared. I guess I am just looking for anyone who has been through this!

    9. hspichke added a post in a topic Update:post Doctors Test

I had the radioactive iodine scan done a few months ago. After I had my son (hes 10 months now) I developed hyperthyroidism, the Dr told me that it should have gone back to normal shortly after but it hadn't so he thought I had Graves and sent me for the test. It was normal. They just had me take a pill come back and pointed this machine at my knee for 2 min then had me lay under an xray machine for 10 min on each side. Didn't feel a thing but it was very boring!

However, like I said my test was normal so he said that was odd and sent me home and wanted me to get my TSH levels checked in 12 wks and I am now waiting for results!

I also just found out last week that my celiac panel was all positive and now am waiting on a biopsy. I have been sick for years so I totally understand how you feel about ridding yourself of the horrible pain even though you may want to cheat. I have been researching quite a bit, but so far have not started a gluten free diet.

    11. hspichke added a post in a topic Anyone Have Hand Tremors

I have a tremor, which was first said to be from the temporary hyperthyroidism I got after having my son but that is now back to normal and my hands are still shakey. I just found out that my entire celiac panel was positive, but I have not gone gluten free yet. ( waiting for endoscopy) So it could be a symptom?

I had NO idea that they didn't put you under anesthesia. My son has had two this yr and they put him under and I guess I assumed it would be the same thing. Now that I know that I am not as afraid. I will definitely have to talk to my Dr a little further about it, but it was mainly the getting put under thing that I was afraid of. Thanks

      Confused And Nervous
I haven't been formally diagnosed with Celiac but my entire celiac panel was positive, the Dr just said he can't formally diagnose without a endoscopy. This brings my first huge worry. I HATE being put under and am completely terrified of it. Even thought I know that this is a routine easy procedure I am scared of being put under. I just wonder if it is really necessary since every blood test I've had is positive.

I have been sick for about 5 years and been fighting Dr after Dr for a diagnosis so there is a sense of relief now that I know what is wrong with me. I just got my celiac folder from my Dr and I didn't realize how intense the gluten free diet is. It seems so overwhelming to go grocery shopping and make meals. I'm sure it takes getting used to but I just almost want to cry. My boyfriend is not gluten free so I also don't know how to deal with cooking meals and all that. My son has had major stomach issues but his tests didn't show much, however, I am going to have him to gluten free too to see if it helps.

Sorry this post was all over the place lol, I haven't slept much!

Celiac Panel Bloodwork, Upper Endoscopy Necessary?
So, as some of you know I have been searching or a diagnosis for a couple years and it seems this really is it! I had a positive ttg test (I think that is right) a couple weeks ago and some of you suggested I ask for a celiac panel. Dr called back today and said all those blood tests were positive and the next step is do an upper endoscopy to biopsy and confirm as well as see the extent of damage to my intestines. I just wonder if this is necessary? If all my bloodwork is positive and I have numerous symtoms isn't that enough to start a gluten free diet?
