  1. The package does say these come from a plant that shares lines with wheat products, but I thought I'd give them a try...I seem to get abdominal cramps after eating them though...wondering if anyone else had ever had an issue with them. I'm new to gluten-free, so don't really know yet what a typical gluten reaction is for me, and haven't been diagnosed yet because I've been feeling quite a bit better since starting the diet and don't really want to go back to gluten just to get a diagnosis! My abdominal cramps haven't completely gone away, but are off and on, and the past couple times i've had these walnuts, I've noticed the cramping gets worse.
  2. Will have to look for that....thanks!
  3. I saw in an old thread someone mentioned that they had found an organic wine that had no detectable sulphites. I love wine, but do react to sulphites, so would live to know if there are any wines with low sulphite levels that I might be able to drink.
  4. I've been avoiding dairy too, because I'm trying to get rid of persistent yeast, and I haven't had any oats...never thought of quinoa! I'll start keeping a food log and see if I can find what's bothering me...thanks!
  5. I've been gluten free for almost 3 weeks, and feel much better in general than I have in months. But for some reason the past few days, my abdominal pain has gotten worse! Or maybe just getting off gluten turned off all the other "noise" in my body, so I just notice it more? Could it be detox? Maybe it is something else, I don't know. Ugh, I just want to find out what this is, and start feeling better!
  6. I've come to realize that many of my weird symptoms could be attributed to possible celiac, so even though it's a long shot, here goes... Ever since I had my daughter 4 months ago, I will occasionally get a strange sensation of tiny bubbles popping in my spine right at the back of my neck where it joins the skull. It's not painful, but I can feel and hear it almost like a carbonated soda being opened, and it lasts a few seconds and then goes away. Nothing in particular seems to cause it. I've searched the net and other people have had this happen too (I'm not crazy, I swear! Lol) though no one seems to know what causes it. I did have a spinal block for anesthetic when I had my emergency c-section, so possibly could be from that, but just wanted to ask here on the off chance that anyone with celiac has experienced this?
  7. I had no idea that was a symptom! Maybe there's hope for me and my 8 year old daughter
  8. Ugh, well, I saw my doc today, and before he does any tests for celiac, he wants to AGAIN rule out my reproductive system. Ultrasound at beginning of February, and after that I might get my tests. He assures me that no matter what we will figure this out. I suppose it's not a bad ideas to look at my reproductive system anyways, since I had a uterine rupture 4 months ago. Could explain the pain, but doesn't really explain the bloating, big d, and gas, and why it's worse after eating...but we'll get there.
  9. Made a turkey roast with mashed potatoes, gluten free gravy, steamed baby peas and gluten free Yorkshire puddings. I wasn't sure about the Yorkshires...they're a favorite around here. The gluten free ones tasted mostly the same, but the texture was so different...they were pretty good, but just not the same. The kids seemed to like them though.
  10. Night Sweats

Never used to get night sweats until a couple years ago, when I started getting them a few days before my period would start. Then got them when I was pregnant, and the regular postpartum sweats...only thing is, my baby is 4 months old now, and it hadn't gone away. I haven't had night sweats since I went gluten free though!
  11. Sudden Insomnia After Going Gluten Free

2 Weeks gluten free, and terrible insomnia. I trend to go through phases of insomnia anyways, but its been really bad the past week or so. Think I'll have to pick up some melatonin.
  12. I see my doctor on Tuesday...and I know I should be eating gluten if I want to get tested, but OMG I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER than I have in years, so i've been totally gluten free. Until tonight. It's my birthday, and my wonderful boyfriend brought home an oreo ice cream cake from Dairy Queen, and how could I say no to that? (one reason I maybe need an official diagnosis...he obviously isn't taking it seriously, and I gave myself permission to cheat.) I have terrible gas (one of my most persistent symptoms since I had my daughter, had almost gone away until now,) and panicky anxiety starting up, feeling sluggish and bloated, big D....can't believe what a difference I see already. And I'd gotten so used to feeling this way that I barely noticed it. I want a diagnosis, but to purposely go back to gluten when it does this to me? That'll be hard to do...
  13. Grapes are treated with sulphites, which still remain after washing. Sulphites are write a major allergen. I always get an itchy, hot red rash on my face, neck, and arms when I consume sulphites, from grapes, cider, or wine.
  14. Red Robin

Went to RR tonight, had a delicious turkey burger on the gluten free bun. Was going to get the lettuce wrap, because I thought the bun might not be that great, but it was really good! They also made sure to cook my fries separately and not season them, and left the chipotle sauce off the burger. This is the first time i've eaten in a restaurant since going gluten free, and I actually don't feel all bloated and gross and tired like I usually do! I never even realized how gross I normally feel until I didn't feel that way this time...weird! Totally impressed with Red Robin.
