  1. Thank you all for the comments! So my next question is...if I do ingest gluten and my baby does seem to have a reaction, what should I look for? And will that mean she was "exposed" to gluten already and "the longer she is breast fed to delay the onset" go out the window? Thankyou
  2. I'm not sure if she is or not. She is only 1 month old.
  3. I am exclusively pumping my breast milk and feeding my baby. My question is...if I were to accidentally ingest gluten, could I "pump and dump". If I can, how much should I dump? How long should I dump? How long does it take for the gluten ingested to enter into my milk and effect my baby? Any information on this would be much appreciated.
  4. A drug addict is exactly the way I've described myself!
  5. I am in the same boat as you are! I have been doing good here lately but have not been gluten free my entire pregnancy and I'm now 36 weeks. I was diagnosed "mildly positive" through a blood test 2 days before finding out I was pregnant. It was a lot to deal with and I am so addicted to good food it has been really hard. I'm trying to be better so I can breast feed without any problems. My baby seems fine now and the blood tests at the beginning of my pregnancy didn't seem to show any anemia...good luck and try your hardest for you and baby!
  6. Thank you so much for the responses. I have been doing much better! My concern right now is when I start breast feeding and the risk of accidental ingestion by cross contamination....Sarah, did you breast feed all your children?
  7. *hanging my head in shame* I am 34 weeks today and I have not been 100% gluten free. My baby girl seems fine. She is very active and everything reported normal on my 19 week ultrasound and my prenatal bloodwork (didn't show I was anemic) I was diagnosed from my bloodwork as being mildly positive(whatever that means) two days before I found out I was pregnant. I go for a couple weeks going gluten free(could possibly be cross contamination in there but I'm not really sensitive so I don't know for sure) and then I cheat. I read all the time on this subject but I guess wanted to get some input from other Celiacs. Do I have reason to be concerned that my baby girl will be born with problems? I am a nervous wreck about this and I am so scared that my lack of self control on eating gluten could have harmed my first baby...I am so frustrated with myself that my constant concern for the well-being of my daughter has not completely kept me from being totally gluten free:( Thank you for your time.
  8. I wanted to post my blood test results to see what other opinions are. I'm not sure how I can be "mildly" positive so I was hoping for more insight tTG IgA (U/mL) range 0-15 result: 25 Gliadin IgA (U/mL) range 0-15 result: 1 Gliadin IgG (U/mL) range 0-15 results: 1 IgA, Total (mg/dL) range 69-309 results: 397 I found out I was pregnant 2 days after receiving these results and I'll be honest...I haven't gone 100% gluten free. My pregnancy has been going well and my baby girl seems to be fine. I'm currently 28 weeks. Thank you for your time!
