  1. Hmmm... Thanks Kareng. Definitely putting that one on the short list.
  2. I'm heading to Chicago in a couple weeks and wondering if anyone has any recent experience with either Gene & Georgetti's or the Chicago Chop House. Neither one mentions anything about Gluten Fee on the websites or menus. I've generally found that upscale steak places are usually pretty safe, but I'd rather know what to expect ahead of time before making reservations since there are a couple of other places that have specific gluten fee menus. Still - I really want to eat at a Chicago landmark. Thanks! Jerry
  3. Does anyone have recomendations for gluten free restaurant options on the North Shore of Minnesota?Anything from Duluth to Grand Marais. We spend a week in the Castle Danger area and I usually just bring my own food and don't bother trying to eat when we go out, but with all the additional awareness that has been happening recently I'm wondering if there are any good, verified options now. Thank you!
  4. Not sure where to post this, but since it's the ingredients I'm concerned with here we go... Just wondering if anyone has volunteered with Feed My Starving Children and experienced any negative reactions. (Feed My Starving Children packs food to be sent to areas in need) Looking at the list of ingredients that get packaged it looks like it should be ok, but as always I'm a little paranoid. Thank you! JT
  5. Update: The 2012 list published by Northland Celiacs is now available: http://northlandceliacs.fastmail.fm/state-fair-food-list-2012.html and WHOO HOO!!! - Fresh French Fries are on it!
  6. It's getting to be that time again, and this will be my first year at the fair gluten free. I've read all the back-posts and all the info I could find via Google, and I know that Northland Celiacs put out a list (which will be my first stop) of gluten free options. I'm also aware that the corn is safe, but I can't just eat corn all day - well I could, but I'd rather not. What I'm wondering is what have people actually tried and not gotten cc'd from? I'm having trouble believeing that getting footlong w/out the but wouldn't result in a bunch of problems. Also does anyone know if the fresh cut french fries are safe? They don't seem to show up on any of the lists. That's all they do there so I would think they're ok, but you never know. Thank you!
  7. Does anyone have any experience with the San Pedro Cafe in Hudson, WI? They offer a gluten free menu but, of course, we all know that doesn't mean much if not prepared correctly. Thanks in advance for any info
