  1. Hi. I am 28 years old and have been suffering from what I thought was IBS my entire pre-adolescent/adult life. I went through dozens of tests and I was just told that I need a nutritionist and I had to live with IBS for the rest of my life. I moved a few years ago and someone mentioned they knew someone with digestive issues and they had a Gluten allergy. I ended up cutting out all Gluten from my diet and I have NEVER felt better. My concern is do I just have a gluten allergy or do I have Celiac? I am overweight and have been my entire life. I lost about 32lbs after going gluten free which was a big shock. I never really ate a lot of unhealthy foods but obesity runs in my family. I had read that you have to be thin to have Celiac. I do not want to go and do the test because I do not want to go back to eating gluten to do so. I already have a lot of issues keeping a non contaminated kitchen due to living with 3 other people who do not have the allergy. It's a struggle everyday and I do get cross contamination at least once a week. My worry is that if I do have Celiac that I am doing things wrong and should know if I do or not. Or does it even matter? I cannot even have the littlest bit of gluten or else I'm in bed for 2 days sick. I feel also if people ask me, oh your Celiac? I would be lying if I said yes. I have been gluten free a year next month.
  2. Hi! I have a question and concern. I found out after over 10 years of suffering that I have a Gluten Allergy. I also have a Lactose allergy which I've known of since I was 5. As of April I have been gluten-free and only as of recently I've been getting HORRIBLE anxiety and sometimes really back panic attacks for no reason. I did a lot of research and decided to cut sugar out of my diet to see if it would help reduce the anxiety I had. It stopped, and I feel like a new person! I'm pretty much assuming I am hypoglycemic. My problem is, how do I get fruit's and healthy sugars into my body without having an attack? I've had processed sugar in small amount ( under a tablespoon ) and even 4 grapes and got anxiety. Has anyone else struggled with this? I'm hoping to get some help on this issue.
  3. I have felt horrible my entire life, and have had hundreds of tests done to figure out why my intestinal tract reacts the way it does. I stopped having tests done about 8 years ago because I couldn't afford it anymore, and was told I had IBS. I recently have been doing some more research and found out I was 0- blood type, and that I should try a Gluten Free diet. I've been gluten-free for about 3 weeks now, and as of this past week I feel as if I'm lacking something. I can't pin point exactly what I'm feeling but I feel a little nauseous, dizzy, and get sweats. Has anyone else felt this? The past 2 days I've started taking a multivitamin and some fish oil. I'm not sure if it's helping or making my symptoms worse. I have yet to see a doctor because I just got insurance, and have not seen a nutritionist. I've been getting most of my information from forums. Thanks for listening.
  4. I have always suffered from intestinal pain and ever since I went Gluten free I have NEVER felt as energetic, healthy and pain free as I do now. It has been almost weeks, and I've lost 7 lbs.
