Unfortunately it's not cheap, but my daughter does good belly probiotics, which are little shots and she loves them, she grabs them in the morning with breakfast. They also have a line that has no sugar. There are other great alternatives like Inner-Eco which is cheaper because it has 30 servings in it. We are lucky to have so many health food sources where I am, so these things are readily available and I've been reading up and looking at my diet the past few months.
In addition, I did a couple of weeks of a cleanse, raw food for a total week which was pretty much gluten free and when I added gluten back in a noticed a huge difference in how I felt, I just went down hill fast. It was night and day, this is why I went to the idea that maybe it was gluten that has been causing my health issues all this time.
I have been told for years it was all in my head, my fatigue, depression, you name it. So I guess I am looking for some kind of answers. I just hate dealing with food in any way, just so many food related issues. I guess I am trying to put this all together for myself because my health has really made life miserable for me for the past few year, especially since having my daughter.
My migraines were the worst, I would crave carbs with them, I am on topomax for those.
I am also wondering, I have read that gluten intolerance can affect your stool, can it affect your urine? The week I was all raw and off gluten, I noticed that I (I know too much info) that my urine was so much clearer and didn't smell, back to eating the way I was and it's back to being weird smelling.
I started eating gluten again for my tests (I haven't been totally gluten free either before taking the tests and not for long either, just avoiding the obvious stuff) since I am a bit skeptical but I asked my doctor because I thought, well it can't hurt to take more of my damn blood.
I am just rambling because I am so tired of being in pain and struggling (Also got in a car accident in November of last year and have been trying to come back from that, it's kind of compounded a lot of my health issues).
Also one of those people at a loss. I was diagnosed with RA and Fibromyalgia a couple of years ago with elevated inflammation. The medications they have me on has helped. Always had depression issues since I was a young kid, weight gain, lots of issues with my weight (never had any issues with weight loss, I wish).
I have recently been dealing with a thiamine deficiency (it is now minor) and I take a B vitamin almost daily to help but who gets a b-1 deficiency? My doctor doesn't think it has anything to do with a possible celiac diagnosis and now that my test was negative she says it's definitive.
Now, I have thought I didn't have any gastrointestinal symptoms, but I have realized that I have gone through periods of having stomach issues where I just had gnawing in my stomach, lots of gas at times and just uncomfortable stomach pains, which I attributed to stress.
I also have the whole brain fog, which was attributed to my fibro, the aching, etc.
So just because the test is negative doesn't mean it's not celiac does it? Is there another way to find out?
I have been dealing with period issues (missing them), hair loss, hard time losing weight etc. for a while now and it all comes down to me being lazy and not working hard enough but it's difficult when your appetite is so strange. I work very hard to eat healthier, less processed foods, more whole foods, etc.
By the way, here are all the things I've been officially diagnosed with, migraine is another one that falls under celiac.
