      Oooohhh my go-to's include:
-Kettle Brand Chips (Their Salt and Pepper chips are the best I've ever had. Barbecue ones are also delish!)
-Nut-thins crackers with peanut butter on them.
      -Hummus and Sweet potato chips
      -Late July chips
      -Uber Bars
-Sahale Parmesan + Herbs almonds. (so amazingly delicious)
-Dole 100% Fruit Cups or fresh fruit
      -Cheese Sticks
-Snyder's of Hanover gluten-free Pretzels (Same price as their regular pretzels!!)
-Annie's Homegrown Fruit Snacks (I'm also a T1D so these are super handy to have as an on-the-go snack for low blood sugar!)
So basically my snacking needs are met by potatoes and nuts.

Hi! I haven't found anything really close to Cheez-its or goldfish, I have stiil found some pretty great cheddar snacks!
Crunchmaster's multi grain white cheddar crackers and their kids cheezy crisps are both really good!
      Foodshouldtastegood's Cheddar crackers/chips are DELICIOUS.
I haven't tried these yet, but Glutino makes a cheddar cracker that looks like a ritz. I've tried the original and they were really good so I bet the cheddar would be good too!
Blue Diamond makes a cheddar flavor of their Nut-thins that's pretty good.
      Hope this helps a little!

      Cold Medicine
Hello! I have a cold and am trying to find a medicine that is gluten free. The only medicine I've tried since going gluten free is Vicks Nature Fusion because it's labeled gluten free but it doesn't work at all for me. My symptoms are just stuffy/runny nose and sore throat. Can anyone tell me what they take (that can be found in regular drug stores) that they know is safe? Something that is preferably in pill form instead of liquid would be great. Thanks so much!

      First Kiss
So I met this guy and we've established that we both like each other. He's really sweet and we're supposed to go out for the first time tomorrow. I'm not suggesting anything with happen tomorrow but it has occurred to me that we may kiss sometime in the near future. It will be my first kiss ever and so obviously my first kiss as a celiac as well. The guy eats gluten but knows what Celiac is and even said he thought he had it at one time. He even seems to understand that even a single breadcrumb could hurt me. I'm not currently comfortable with eating at restaurants and I kind of hinted at that when we were making plans. He seemed to understand and said that if we ever did want to eat at a restaurant we would plan ahead and make sure it was safe. That made me really, really happy. This guy is super sweet but I'm SO worried about having to tell him that "oh, by the way, since my body is an idiot you kind of need to brush your teeth before we kiss so..........." I just feel like that's going to scare him off. And yeah, I know that if he doesn't understand then he isn't worth it but I really like him and want to try my hardest to make it work and not freak him out. I want to tell him in the best way possible and at the right time. I don't want to just spring it on him right as he leans in for a kiss, ya know? But I also don't want to seem like I'm just assuming and mention it too early. Does anyone have any experience with this? How did you handle it and did it go well? I know it really depends on the guy but  just have no idea when or how to mention it? Help??

Would Volunteering At An Animal Shelter Be Possible?
I plan to start volunteering at my local animal shelter soon but have some concerns before signing up. The volunteer position entails playing with, walking, and talking to the cats and dogs in order to get them socialized and ready for adoption. It doesn't list feeding as one of the responsibilities but my guess is that I would be somewhat involved in feeding. I'm pretty sure the food that the shelter uses contains gluten. My cat's food has gluten but it's a little different when it's just her and I can scoop it, put it in her bowl, close the container, and wash my hands immediately after. If I was feeding a large number of animals or even just playing with them and trying to avoid kisses, it seems like it would be much harder. Do you think it's a possibility that I could still volunteer?

I don't really want to talk to the shelter people about it because I feel weird volunteering my time and then bringing up the whole gluten thing and making it all about me and my issue. I could ask to wear gloves when feeding but I wouldn't want to wear them around the animals in case they spooked them. If it were you would you feel uncomfortable bringing up your dietary issues or even be worried about the dog and cat food at all?

      Can This Cause Glutening?
Okay so this is totally gross but I started up the dishwasher today and somehow forget to add the dishwashing detergent. I don't know where my mind was but I didn't realize until I had already taken dishes out of it and ate an entire meal on them. I guess I'm just so stressed out with exams at school and work and everything else that my mind was focusing more on those things that dishes. The dishwasher had gluten containing dishes in it along with my stuff but it would be safe to say that most of them had been rinsed out. What the hot temperature and water pressure be enough to kill anything or should I be worried? I know it was totally stupid on my part but now I'm freaking out. I know there's nothing I can do but wait but what do you guys think?

      Olive Oil?
I have a bottle of Rachael Ray Everyday EVOO and I know olive oil is supposed to be gluten free but the bottle doesn't say anything. Has anyone ever seen an olive oil with gluten or should they all be safe?

      Hand Cream?
My hands are extremely dry and cracked and just start bleeding whenever they feel like it and it's really painful and I'm looking for a really good hand cream or lotion or something that's gluten free and works really well. Please please please if anyone knows of any products that are really good let me know because this is driving me insane. I have Amlactin but I'm not sure if it's gluten free. I've also been using neosporin but I need some type of actual cream instead of an ointment. Please help!

Snyder's of Hanover make REALLY good gluten free pretzels that taste just like gluten ones! Even my family can't tell the difference. Glutino also makes pretzels but I haven't tried those. You could also try glutino's table crackers which are kind of like saltines or their round crackers which are kind of like ritz.

I highly recommend the Snyder's pretzels though because they're almost identical to regular pretzels.

    11. abby03 added a post in a topic Going In For Endo On Friday, Questions

Try to relax about the procedure! I know each person's case is different, but I had a very positive experience! I was very nervous but my appointment wasn't until 4pm and at that point I was just ready to get it over with since I hadn't eaten or drank anything since 8pm the night before lol. Anyway, before I went back I wrote down a list of all of the questions I had and made sure to ask them to the nurse. From there, I got into a gown, got hooked to the IV, spoke briefly to the doctor, and then rolled down the hall to the procedure room. Once I got in there the anesthesiologist talked to me and was asking me about school and stuff. They put an oxygen mask over my face and told me that it was going to smell bad and then they gave me the anesthesia and I started getting really hot and then I started to panic because I couldn't ask them if I was supposed to feel hot because of the mask. That's the last thing I remember and honestly the worst part of the experience for me (and it wasn't even that bad.) When I woke up my parents were there and I had some ice cold water. They kept me for a little bit just to make sure I was good and then they let me leave and I got to go eat haha. From the time I woke up to the time I got home I only remember bits and pieces but it wasn't bad at all. I was actually feeling pretty good haha. Apparently I told my mom "these are some goooooooood drugs!" For the rest of that night my mouth was really dry and it was like I couldn't get enough to drink. The next day my throat was scratchy but it didn't really hurt.

It was my first time being drugged up and I was really nervous but it ended up being completely fine haha. If I had to do it again I wouldn't be nervous at all. Like I said, everyone is different but I think most peoples' experience with this have been fine.
      Good luck! : )

^mmm that sounds delicious! I was thinking about some rice dishes. Maybe I could also do rice with chicken, cheese, and broccoli.

So I take it Zatarain's Spanish rice is safe? Are any of their other rices safe?

      Ideas For Portable Dinners?
Hello! I recently got a part time job at a grocery store and most of my hours have been in the evening during the time that I usually eat dinner. This is only my second week and last week I just took a can of Progresso soup in a thermos and some Glutino table crackers because I had a cold and didn't feel like eating much. Now that my cold is getting better, I'm going to want more of a variety in my dinners on nights that I'm working. I've got a pretty nice thermos thats wide and short so that I can fit food into it and I also just got some tupperware-type containers. I'll have access to a microwave (but it looks pretty gross and old so I'm a little wary of it) but no fridge. I've got an insulated lunch bag and ice packs though. I'm trying to make a list of different things that I can take and be able to keep hot or cold for at least 4 or 5 hours. My only major diet restriction in gluten but I also try to limit the amount of lactose I have since it seems to give me stomach problems if I have too much. Chicken is my favorite meat but I occasionally eat beef too. I don't really eat turkey, pork, or fish. Here's what I have so far:

-Grilled Chicken, roasted peppers, and potatoes kept cold and then microwaved.
-Grilled or Roasted chicken salad. (Lettuce, cheese, chicken, and italian dressing)
-Grilled or Roasted chicken wrap. (Same as above- just in a Rudi's wrap)
-Leftover stews or soups that my stepmom makes throughout winter.
-Spaghetti in the thermos and then a small tossed salad in the tupperware.

That's all so far! Any suggestions are appreciated!!

      Baking Tinkyada Pasta?
Hello! This year will be my first gluten free Thanksgiving and I'm trying to get everything all planned out. I look forward to my mom's baked mac and cheese for 364 days every year so it's definitely a MUST. I love Tinkyada rice pasta for making spaghetti and was wondering it anyone knew how their elbows did with baking? Do they do well or get mushy or hard? If they don't do well, does anyone know of any brands that make elbows that do well in the oven? Thanks so much! : )

    15. abby03 added a post in a topic Was This A Bad Idea?

It was on the same rack.
It's possible that it was the thought of it but I'm not sure because my stomach was acting funny this morning and when my class got canceled this morning I came home and slept 3 hours which I NEVER do. I'm a big morning person and this morning I could barely hold my eyes open which was really rare for me. And now I'm getting muscle/joint pain. The pain could be associated with gluten or with anxiety(I think I get it for both.)
