  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I just raed an article that says a flavoring agent that they use is derived from wheat and dairy About the topic, I get glutened way more often than I should, but lately I've been going to restaurants that claim to have gluten free options. More often than not, I end up getting sick, so the food is probably cross contaminated.
  3. I'm going to be attending the university of hartford in the fall. My dad called up the college and found out that I can probably get an on campus apartment (usually reserved for upper classmen) that has a kitchen, so I can make my own food. They also have a nutritionist I think, so it should all work out. My biggest concern is my roommate. If I have a jerk of a roommate he might cross contaminate things and it wouldnt be very cool.
  4. False Negative?

i had a blood test done and it showed negative, but my dad wasn't convinced, so he ordered a stool test for me which showed positive.
  5. Ok.... so last year, I was really sick. I was missing a lot of school, and no one knew what was wrong, but a little over 2 months ago I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I've been eating gluten free since then. Overall I've been feeling much better, but still not perfect (I know it could take over 6 months or up to a year to completely heal). Last year toward the end of the school year I was only going to school 1 to 2 days of the week because of how sick I was (I was still able to make up all my work and pull a 3.5 gpa though yay). This year, I've been going to school almost every day. Even though I've been doing better, I'm still having sleeping problems, and I still sometimes have these random days where I'm so tired that I can barely move and have no energy. I'm like almost dead. This morning, I couldn't get up and I slept until about 3:30 in the afternoon. It was the second day of school that I missed in the last month. I'm almost positive that I haven't been glutened, but sometimes this happens to me randomally. Other than that, I've bene hanging in there. Has this happened to anyone and is this from celiac disease? Thanks in advance edit: I should also mention that I was glutened like two weeks ago (i was really hungry and ate bacon cheese fries at nathans which i knew was stupid) but I thought it was out of my system. Could I have gotten randomally sick today from that?
  6. Just Found Out...

Thanks for the support guys I'm taking all sorts of vitamins and stuff... also i've been avoiding dairy products, and soon I'm gonna have a test for food allergies..
  7. Hey pplz... Glad theres a teen section... i'm 17 and wanna talk to kids that are around my age with celiac. You can all be my celiac buddies. Whoever wants to be my celiac buddy, e-mail me or IM me... yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh So yeah, I'm into music. I play guitar. I'm like... into a lot of classic rock... and a lot of metal... and starting to get into jazz more... Jazz is awesome... especially crazy jazz chords.... its all about... like... m7b5's.... and #9's.... anywho, my favorite bands right now are led zeppelin, pink floyd, megadeth, metallica, guns n roses, and lots more i guess... So thank you future celiac buddies, hope to talk to you soon.
  8. Do You Ever Have Weird Dreams

Weird. I've been having these dreams ever since I was diagnosed a few weeks ago. We need a dream analyzer to analyze the dream.... Nevermind, we're probably all just afraid of getting sick.
  9. Insomnia

Hey, guess what? I have insomnia too. It got worse when I started my gluten-free diet, but I'm just going through gluten withdrawal... Right now its like 2 am, and i'll probably be up for a few more hours... Nice to know that I'm not the only one here with it.
  10. Hi everyone, just joined a few days ago, this is my first post. I was just diagnosed with celiac disease by a stool sample (the results came back on my 17th birthday... what a great and I've been on a gluten free diet since then, which was July 7th, so its been a little bit over two weeks. I've started to feel worse after I started the gluten-free diet. Among other things, I've had more nausea, less appetite, and I've been losing more weight. I also dont know if this is from celiac, but my insomnia is worse too (did anyone else have insomnia?). I didn't know what was happening, but after I read through a few posts here, I saw that other people had gotten worse and then better, so I'm not worried anymore, I'm just trying to hang in there until I start feeling better. I've been really good about eating gluten free stuff, and my parents are very helpfull. Well, I cant think of anything else, and if you've made it to the end of my post, congratulations. You get a gluten free cookie. Thank you all for the wealth of information on this board. --Dave
