  1. Also considered myself to be asymptomatic. Doctor had me tested for celiac to rule it out as the cause of my osteoporosis. I was shocked and thought it must be a mistake when the results came back positive. But then I realized that it explained the weight loss which I had the previous year. Once I was gluten free, I also realized that I was no longer getting...
  2. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis several years prior to my celiac diagnosis. In fact, it was my bone doctor who suspected celiac and ordered the initial blood test. Despite going gluten free, increasing exercise, taking vitamin D and calcium, my bone density was not improving. So I was put on Prolia about four or five years ago, and there has been some...
  3. I kept getting very similar rashes prior to diagnosis. The only treatment that seemed to work was Prednisone for extensive periods. The combination of Prednisone and undiagnosed celiac wreaked havoc on my bone density-- which then did lead to a diagnosis. My blood test did show high antibodies and it was confirmed with an endoscopy. I never got a DH diagnosis...

All of our flosses are made on designated lines so there is no chance of cross contamination with gluten. Thanks again! Paul Oral-B Team Yeah! Good News...
  6. I have always been a very loyal Trader Joe's customer. However - I find their labeling totally irresponsible! They have MANY products with a "g" icon on front - implying gluten free. However, on the back side of the product , there is often a disclaimer that the product was made on equipment shared with wheat containing products. I have brought it to store...
  7. Dumb things doctors say- It was a bone specialist who had me tested for celiac. When it came back positive, he referred me to a GI for an endoscopy. When I told this to my primary care physician - she responded, saying that I have a high anti-body count - that I should just go gluten free and not to bother with the endoscopy. When I explained that the first...
