  1. I asked my dermatologist about Aczone but since I was allergic to sulfa, said I couldn't tolerate it. From what I read it takes several weeks to ease the rash. .. like 2 - 3 months. Posting a web site if ok with the moderators? http://www.aczone.com
  2. I'm following your rubbing alcohol treatment. . . I stopped taking Dapsone, I think I had a Dapsone rash in addition to the DH. I have question. About the rash . . . is every lesion a blister with fluid? I'm still trying to track down all I can to present to my doctors. I have a DH diagnosis but not every lesion had fluid. I scratched and the skin...
  3. Sometimes my scalp is horrible, like right now. I found out a few weeks ago I was eating some veggies that are high in iodine. Red food coloring has iodine . . . may have to sit down and write/print out a list so I won't forget!
  4. Oh my . . . Carybear, you do not have DH? I would like to know how you diagnosed by the picture too. Just curious. I have been diagnosed with DH with 2 doctors in agreement and the rash on my hands looked exactly like 'Dani' presentation. The blisters on my hands were extremely small, fluid came out after scratching and they eventually had the peeling...
  5. Well, I have joined the many that have been told to see a psychiatrist because of my rash. I just about fell off the exam table as I listened to a new dermatologist tell me that my rash was caused by my mind. He told me that I felt an itch, scratched it and it became a blister of fluid. Then when the skin was broken, it became infected. He also told me...
  6. Squirmy . . . I can tell they are healing. Pray it continues to heal and quickly! I understand about the allergy to penicillin and needing a fall back drug, for an emergency. My Gpa, Dad, siblings and now my nephew is allergic to penicillin. My Gpa was given it, in error while admitted to hospital for pneumonia and died in 1963. Hang in there...
  7. There are time that .38 is looking better & better. Oh Squirmingitch ... put those thoughts way out of your mind! The topical Dapsone is ACZONE® and you may want to research to see if your doctor will prescribe it for you. When I asked for Dapsone, I mentioned the topical to my PCP and she didn't seem to recognize the name. Since she agreed to ...
  8. Oh my goodness! I had the 'flesh eating' lesions on my lower belly. I really think it was several lesions side by side that just grew into each other. They have healed and now are the dark purple color. I know you have been so strict on being gluten-free, I want to cry for you! Do you think your doctor will order light therapy for you? Wish...
  9. Deleted pictures and my response per the request of SPJ&E
  10. When we go out to have dinner, I ask for their allergy menu. Red Lobster cleaned a grill for me, wore gloves and prepared salmon along with a salad. I had to wait a little longer than usual but it was worth it to know I wouldn't be cc'd. I don't even try to eat at the fast food place anymore.
  11. Yes, I have it bad. I see a new dermatologist from University S Florida on Dec 6th. I see my PCP this coming Tues. I really am healing. The ones from my wrist to elbow have healed and just have dark spots, no itch. From my elbow to shoulder is trying to heal but I keep taking off the scabs. Not really itching there but feel the dryness. The lesions...
  12. My scalp is covered especially back of head. I have some lesions on both knees, not as much as in these photos. The sole of my right foot is covered with lesions. The ones on my foot have healed and the skin has peeled off. Trying to load the photos. . . we'll see if I can get this accomplished. http://i1323.photobu...6/closerash.jpg http...
  13. I do not have a photo but had the same type of rash all over my hands in 2010. Both hands were covered and OMW, it bout drove me nuts! My doctor then did not know what caused it and gave me topicals but I never did have complete relief. I had to wear gloves to wash dishes and finally just told my family, no more dishes for me. I recently started Dapsone...
  14. Your pics link came through. The front view of you is what I looked like all over! My scalp, back, front and butt. I have some lesions around my knees and on my arms too. I am a self diagnosed DH person. I had the scalp and feet breakouts since at least 1999, of and on. I have been gluten free and on Dapsone for 4 weeks and the improvement is drastic...
